Head and Neck Surgical Oncology SpecialistSultan Qaboos Comprehensive Cancer Care and Research CenterUniversity Medical CityMuscat, Sultanate of Oman The Sultan Qaboos Comprehensive Cancer Care & Research Center (SQCCCRC) in Muscat, Oman, is a Quaternary care level center providing care for adult patients with solid malignancies (Not hematological malignancies). SQCCCRC is seeking to appoint Head and Neck Surgical Oncology (Specialist), who is a highly motivated individual to develop her/his professional career within the Centre. The SQCCCRC is aspiring to be a high-tech center with innovative-patient and staff centered-technologies. Education/Qualifications:

Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery certificate or equivalentInternship certificateBoard certified in Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck surgery or Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery or equivalent or completion of training program in Head and Neck Surgical Oncology. License: Current and clean medical license to practice in country of origin/ country of practice. Experience Post-Qualifications: Minimum 1 (ONE) year of experience post board certification in country of origin/ country of practice. Job Duties/ Responsibilities: Adheres to policies, guidelines, plans and programs of SQCCCRC. Performs all duties assigned to his designation.

Assumes direct responsibility for the patients under his/her medical attendance in the assigned unit. Conducts rounds and undertakes supervision of treatment of the inpatients as well as screening and examination of the outpatients. Undertakes supervisory responsibility for the medical staff within the unit and prepares regular reports on the activities of the unit for the department head/chairman. Participates in the various committees for the upgrading of services and organization of work within and outside the hospital.

Participates in the planning and implementation of the department development plans and the different manpower training programs for the medical, technical and nursing staffParticipates in the planning and follow up of the medical education and research activitiesPerforms all relevant interventions related to his/her field of specializationParticipates in health education programs through orientation and scientific presentationsParticipates in scheduling of on-call duties and provides on-call servicesParticipates in the assessment and updating of drug, medical supply and equipment needsWrites, completes and approves medical records and reports for patientsProvides guidance and counsel to other departments when requestedCompletes and maintains his set of clinical privilegesComplies with Re-validation guidelines and standardsPerforms other duties as assigned/directed by the chairperson/head of the department and approved by the Medical DirectorCompiles with the policies, systems and processes in place that governs researchEnsure patients are aware of their rights and responsibilities and access to research Salary will be based upon experience, qualification(s), and availability of the financial grade.
