Earthbond is building a one-stop-shop for small and medium businesses and their energy needs.Our technology de-risks clean energy opportunities using predictive analytics and contextual intelligence to unlock capital across this space.We were built out of the Innovation Lab at Harvard Business School and we’re a young team of movers and shakers with backgrounds in fintech, off-grid energy, and economic development looking to make impact and returns throughout emerging markets.About youWe’ve focused on grid-tied systems under 30kVA, but we’re expanding to serve larger businesses with 50–100kVA+ installations. To support this growth, we’re looking for an experienced Senior Solar Engineer to guide our design, QA, and installation processes as a leader on our team. We've in spirit looking for a partner to lead our team since our inception, but have really just hit the demand where we know you can make constant fulfilling impact.You’re a driven, self-starter looking to excel in a fast-paced environment. As part of the team, you’ll be responsible for the on-the-ground success of our business model from customer audits to equipment and vendor procurement to installation. But if you’re looking for a scrappy, resourceful, and agile group of really hard workers that are looking to achieve a huge vision - you should certainly join us!Please send your resume and cover letter to hiring@earthbond.co.QualificationsMaster's degree in Electrical Engineering or EquivalentAt least 8 years working in the solar and distributed energy industry in NigeriaMembership of relevant professional bodies (Nigeria Society of Engineers, COREN, REAN)Completed training/certifications in Solar PV project design and implementation with experience architecting at least 1 MW of installationsPMP certification a plusAbility to travel around Lagos and multiple customer sitesRequirementsAt least 6 years designing and installing off and hybrid grid solar installationsAt least 3 year experience on procurement and logistics for solar PV equipment and accessories from Tier 1 and Tier 2 providersAt least 2 years serving in client-facing roles partnering with sales and business development for new designsAt least 2 years experience managing a technical team with multiple reportsExperience executing residential and small business sales calls for electrical installationsResponsibilitiesProvide technical oversight on solar PV system designs (50–100kVA+), ensuring compliance with Nigerian regulations and international standards (e.g. IEC, SON, NEC).Review and validate BOMs, one-line diagrams, inverter selections, wiring layouts, etc.Advise on equipment procurement (e.g. PV modules, inverters, balance of system) and vendor selection.Audit and improve existing QA/QC checklists for 3rd-party EPC contractors.Support risk management: grounding, overcurrent protection, fire safety, surge arrestors, etc.Advise on grid interconnection and liaise with DISCOs if needed.Mentor and support Earthbond’s in-house Solar Design Engineer.Periodically visit select installations for commissioning or issue resolution.DetailsWork environment: Hybrid & Client SiteLocation: Southwest Nigeria / Client-specificCompensation: Competitive Senior Salary + Benefits and EquityEmployment type: 6 month contract to hire + equityNext Steps: Complete this application and https://forms.gle/rqXtNcaQoQaGWT7Q8 Email your 1-page resume to hiring@earthbond.co if interested.
