Head of AI, Singapore

The opportunityWe are seeking a dynamic leader to head our Singapore AI team and lead us through the next phase of data-driven transformation across the organization. Reporting to the Chief AI Officer, Asia and the Chief Marketing Officer, Singapore, you will work closely with local and regional stakeholders to shape and lead our overall AI aspiration within the Singapore business.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and drive the Singapore AI strategy, including identifying and prioritizing use cases, capturing data, enhancing data, and cleansing data, while collaborating closely with local and regional data offices.Work directly with the Singapore Executive team and Manulife partners to drive through leadership on how to leverage AI and data to improve business objectives and value metricsManage a team of Senior Data Scientists, Data Scientists, and ML Engineers to build and support AI services across multiple functional domains for our Singapore business.Collaborate with Data engineers and IT Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gain a deep understanding of source data and harness large datasets to prepare and optimize data for priority use cases.Collaborate directly with key business partners to unlock greater value with the deployment of AIDevelop and implement cutting-edge machine learning models to tackle complex business challenges, utilizing a diverse range of algorithms and techniques.Work closely with partners to gather requirements, design data models, and deploy customized solutions.Take charge of talent management, coaching, and team building.Standardize processes, techniques, and tools as best practices for data scientists within the team and globally through best practice sharing.Drive the adoption of use cases to facilitate maximum value realization for the business.Maintain alignment to regional and global modeling standards and governance processes to ensure appropriate use and continued performance of solutions.Innovate and explore creative methods to source and leverage structured and unstructured data.Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in AI/ML.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degrees in engineering, statistics, math, economics or business (master’s degree would be an asset)12+ years of increasing experience of data science and advanced analytics that directly align to the responsibilities of this positionDeep expertise in machine learning, data visualization, data analytics and some experience of AI, especially Gen AI developmentHand-on expertise in advanced analytical solution development using Python, SQL, SAS etc., knowledge BI tools like Power BI, Tableau, Qlik etc.Knowledge of cloud service providers like AWS, MS Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, along data platforms like Databricks or SnowflakeProven track record of implementing data science solutions at a large organization, collaborating across a matrix organization to achieve buy-inA demonstrated track record of consistently meeting and/or exceeding performance expectationsExcellent problem solving, strategic thinking and analytical skillsHighly collaborative working style with the ability to build strong working relationships and influence.Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask and manage priorities.Easily resolve complex issues by taking a proactive approach to analyses problems and generate solutions.An ability to role model Manulife’s core values and embrace these behaviors as part of their work.What motivates you?You obsess about customers, listen, engage and act for their benefit.You think big, with curiosity to discover ways to use your agile approach and enable business outcomes.You thrive in teams and enjoy getting things done together.You take ownership and build solutions, focusing on what matters.You do what is right, work with integrity and speak up.You share your humanity, helping us build a diverse and inclusive work environment for everyone.What can we offer you?A competitive salary and benefits packages.A growth trajectory that extends upward and outward, encouraging you to follow your passions and learn new skills.A focus on growing your career path with us.Flexible work policies and strong work-life balance.Professional development and leadership opportunities.Our commitment to youValues-first culture: We lead with our Values every day and bring them to life together.
