To further accelerate our growth and reinforce our market position in the life sciences sector, Avertim is looking for a Head of Business Unit to lead and develop our consulting activities in the Flemish region.This strategic leadership role involves managing an established client base, expanding key accounts, and strengthening our market impact through high-value consulting solutions.Your RoleAs Head of Business Unit, you will have full responsibility for the strategic direction, growth, and performance of our life sciences activities in Flanders. You will lead a team of Business Managers and consultants and act as a key ambassador of Avertim’s expertise, ensuring both client success and internal team development.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic LeadershipDefine and execute the vision for the Life Sciences Business Unit in Flanders, aligned with Avertim’s company and sector strategy.Strengthen our position within the Flemish life sciences ecosystem.Client Portfolio & Key Account ManagementManage and grow an already well-established client portfolio.Deepen strategic relationships with key accounts through proactive engagement, tailored solutions, and high-level stakeholder management.Identify cross-selling and up-selling opportunities within existing accounts to further expand our footprint.Business DevelopmentIdentify and secure new business opportunities in pharma, biotech, and medtech.Lead strategic offers, proposals, and negotiations to support continued commercial growth.Act as a thought partner to clients, offering insights that address their most critical challenges.Team & Talent LeadershipLead and grow a high-performing team of Business Managers and consultants.Inspire and support talent development through coaching, mentoring, and structured career planning.Collaborate with HR on recruitment, engagement, and retention strategies.Your ProfileMaster’s degree in Business, Life Sciences, or a related field.7+ years of professional experience, including management role(s) in consulting or life sciences.Strong experience managing key accounts and complex client relationships.Proven ability to lead teams and drive business performance in a matrixed environment.In-depth understanding of the life sciences ecosystem.Fluent in Dutch and English; French is an asset.Strategic thinker with a hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset and strong commercial acumen.Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.As an Avertimer, you will get the opportunity toDevelop yourself in a place where individuals and ideas matter.Engage in a career path that provides you with the ability to continuously enhance your skills and knowledge.Immerse yourself into a vibrant, fast-growing team and nurturing work environment.Be part of an experienced international community of Avertimers and enjoy a network of cross-industry expertise.Keep on learning from your peers and develop your own skills.Our offerBesides our vibrant work environment, we offer a competitive compensation package including:Company car or green mobility packageCafetaria planFull hospitalization insurance and extensive group insurance packageCollective bonus planPerformance-based bonus planUnique training, certification & learning opportunitiesAnd much more!
