As Head of Commercial Finance at Hunkemöller, you’ll drive profitable decisions, shape strategy, and work directly with the CFO to shape the future of the business.Job descriptionHunkemöller is looking for a commercially minded and strategically strong Head of Commercial Finance to lead all aspects of commercial analysis, reporting, and financial business partnering for Buying, Merchandising, and E-commerce.This newly created position plays a key role in building structure, improving visibility, and enhancing financial influence across the business. Acting as the senior finance lead for Buying and Merchandising, you will challenge and advise on trading decisions, assortment strategy, pricing, and promotions — ensuring that commercial decisions are both data-driven and profit-focused.You will work closely with C-level and Director-level stakeholders to align financial objectives with broader commercial goals and coordinate the financial building blocks of the 3-year strategic plan and annual budget. This is a high-impact role for someone who enjoys shaping a function, developing robust analytical frameworks, and translating performance data into actionable insights that directly drive trading and profitability.Main responsibilitiesCommercial Performance & ReportingLead the preparation and delivery of the weekly commercial trading review (BLT), analysing key KPI's such as sales, margin, markdowns, and stock performance.Chair the Monday Trading Meeting, presenting insights, identifying trends, and recommending clear action plans.Deliver high-impact insights that drive profitable decision-making and improved return on stock investments.Ensure data accuracy and KPI alignment across functions, partnering with IT and BI teams to enhance dashboards and automate reporting.Manage the Monthly Executive Business Review (EBR) process – coordinating inputs, consolidating results from systems like OneStream and SAC, and providing sharp, visual analyses and commentary that explain underlying business trends.Strategic Financial Planning & AnalysisLead the full financial planning cycle — budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning — across all channels, geographies, and departments.Develop robust, scenario-based financial models to support seasonal planning, category investment decisions, and risk/opportunity assessments.Drive the commercial planning process, ensuring alignment on targets, assumptions, and timelines across the organisation.Evaluate key marketing campaigns and promotions (e.g. Bra Party, Black Friday), ensuring clear understanding of financial impact and ROI.Coordinate the financial building blocks of the 3-year strategic plan, ensuring consistency and clarity in how financial goals support growth initiatives.Business Partnering & ProjectsAct as a trusted partner to Buying, Merchandising, Marketing, and E-commerce teams — bringing structure, insight, and financial discipline to key commercial decisions.Partner with the Business Intelligence team to develop new dashboards and improve data flows (e.g. stock availability, e-commerce traffic).Serve as Finance lead for the Merchandise Financial Planning (MFP) tool selection and implementation project.Provide ad-hoc analysis to evaluate the financial impact and ROI of strategic and operational initiatives.Candidate profile:To be considered for this position, you must currently be residing in the Netherlands.Master degree in Finance, Business Economics or equivalent.Minimum of 8 years of experience in Commercial Finance / FP&A, ideally in an international retail or fashion environment.Strong analytical background with a proven ability to translate data into actionable business insight.Skilled business partner with excellent communication and influencing skills.Hands-on and structured — able to build new processes and implement reporting improvements in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.Proven people leadership experience.Excellent Excel skills and experience with BI and dashboarding tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, SAC).Fluent in English (Dutch or German a plus).Employment ConditionsSalary Range: €110.000 – €130.000 (incl. holiday allowance)Bonus: Up to 30% annual performance-related bonusCar Allowance / Lease CarPension & Excedent Scheme25 Holidays per year (based on full-time role)Buy & Sell Days: Option to buy or sell additional vacation days each AprilHybrid Work: 60:40 hybrid model with flexibility to work from homeWork From Abroad: Up to 2 weeks per yearHunkemöller Academy: Continuous learning and professional developmentEmployee Discounts: 25% staff discount, plus up to 55% during internal salesInternational Work Environment: Collaborative, diverse and inclusive cultureCompany ProfileHunkemöller is a leading women’s bodywear retailer in western Europe with over 900 stores across the whole of Europe.
