SFOC Head of Communications Organization DescriptionSFOC was established in South Korea in 2016 with the goal of most effectively reducing greenhouse gases in line with the Paris Agreement's target to limit the global average temperature increase to within 1.5°C.Under the mission of 'Accelerating the Global Transition to Renewable Energy and Phasing Out Fossil Fuels,' we continuously identify and expand on the most urgent issues that need to be addressed to combat the climate crisis. By collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders, we promote tangible change.SFOC currently focuses on three major areas: Fossil Fuel Phase-Out, Industrial Decarbonization, and Renewable Energy Expansion. To drive effective climate crisis response, we employ a variety of tactics including research, communication, diplomacy, legal action, and civil society alliances.Believing that 'People' are the key to tackling the climate crisis, we work alongside experts from various fields to engage in climate action. SFOC embraces a creative approach, unrestricted by conventional strategies, to find solutions.We collaborate with partners in Korea, other parts of Asia, and around the world. Centered on climate agendas that SFOC emphasizes, we aim to grow as a key organization in the global response to the climate crisis.Job DescriptionWe are looking for a talented candidate with experience in digital and conventional media content strategy responsible for setting up the SFOC communications strategy. The Head will lead SFOC’s currently fifteen-person communications division, which. The division consists of five sub-units, respectively responsible for digital communications, international media communications, Korean media communications, and productions. The Head will report to the Director and will need to collaborate closely with other divisions in SFOC, including power, diplomacy, climate finance, and operations departments, and coordinate with international or Korean partner organizations. The Head is expected to craft a persuasive and creative content and campaign marketing strategy, including by using storytelling for social media and press media, to be up to date on local and international climate issue and to make an action.Key ResponsibilitiesSupervising currently four work units in charge of SFOC’s digital communications, international media communications, Korean media communications, and productions Stabilizing SFOC’s branding communications strategy and create the global branding strategy under the global expansion flow Providing directions to the evolving and unique narrative of SFOC, making what we do and why we do it plausible and accessible Being a master storyteller, attracting and inspiring new audiences Setting clear marketing objectives Increasing awareness and building innovative educational initiatives to maintain a competitive edge in the climate crisis and zero carbon emission Designing, implementing and optimizing scalable marketing processes and funnelling that result in growth Work with other internal departments to ensure marketing objectives are aligned with overall company organizational goals Collaborate and lead across the organization, representing the voice of the mass public and press; bringing marketing insights to cross-functional stakeholders across product, target customer experience, development, and executive leadership Analysing marketing data to develop insights and make informed decisions on areas for optimization QualificationsBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably with marketing and brand communication background, and an interest in national and global issues Strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly, with excellent attention to detail At least 10 years of experience in content marketing and brand strategy +5 years of experience in leading creative teams and coaching staffs for upper-level management in a corporation or non-profit organization Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including staff, and external partners Proficiency in Windows, including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint Adaptable to digital marketing tactics including display/re-targeting, social media (including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter), PPC, and SEO A marketer with a proven track record creating complex customer journeys and using marketing automation strategies to achieve results.
