Maviance Group is specialized in delivering customized solutions and value-added services as well as industry specific web and mobile solutions for telecom, utilities and financial institutions, businesses and governments, with a key focus in emerging economiesMaviance PLC as a fintech develops, operates and grows a technological platform that focuses on increasing and facilitating access to digital financial services (including bill & payment aggregation, retail payments, agent banking, corporate & bulk payments) to people, companies and government entities of all income level across Cameroon.Maviance PLC is engaging in its expansion phase in Cameroon and within the CEMAC (Central African) region with the goal of establishing the company as the #1 leading player in the Fintech and Digital Financial space.To accompany us in this light, we seek a dynamic Head of Compliance who shall be responsible for ensuring that the company operates in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. This role is critical in safeguarding the organization against regulatory, financial, and reputational risks while fostering a strong culture of compliance across all business units. The ideal candidate shall also be responsible for managing and maintaining all aspects of the AML (Anti-Money Laundering), CTF (Counter-Terrorism Financing) and Anti-Fraud and to ensure a high level of compliance with the relevant laws and is responsible to implement a comprehensive assurance function and Framework for the Company. He/she will support risk management efforts by ensuring processes are robust, compliant, and aligned with best practices. The Head of Compliance will report directly to the CEO, providing insights into the company's Compliance state and regulatory strategy.Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure compliance with BEAC regulations, CEMAC directives, and other applicable financial and fintech lawsOversee Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF), and Know Your Customer (KYC) programs, processes and requirementsMaintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and advise management on their impactIdentify, assess, and mitigate compliance and regulatory risksConduct regular compliance audits and risk assessmentsDevelop and implement compliance policies, procedures, and frameworks aligned with international best practicesEstablish monitoring and reporting systems to detect and prevent non-complianceAct as the primary liaison with regulators, MNOs, auditors, and external stakeholders. Prepare and submit regulatory reports and ensure timely responses to inquiriesProvide compliance input for new product launches, partnerships, and market expansion. Support licensing applications and renewals at national and regional levelsEnsure and lead to the implementation of Training and communication plans to sensitize all staff employees and partners to regulatory and financial compliance standards. Promote a culture of integrity and ethical conduct across the organizationMonitor compliance with internal controls across the organizationPrepare reports for senior management on audit performance, findings, and recommendationsFollow up on audit issues to ensure timely resolutionEnsure timely and effective reporting of all suspicious activities Prepare monthly and quarterly AML trends reports Ensure timely and efficient reporting to the relevant Service Provider and authorities (MNOs, COBAC, BEAC, ANTIC, etc.)RequirementsMinimum of 4-year tertiary degree in Compliance, Risk Management, Audit, or related fieldPost Graduate degree in similar or related field is an advantagePrior experience as Compliance or risk manager or in a similar roleA minimum of 3 to 5 years' total experience in a similar position with at least 2 years in a managerial roleProven experience Risk & Compliance Management, Process & Control Management within a FinTech, Mobile Money or Banking environment Hands-on experience in managing, and implementing compliance policies, procedures, and initiatives in Fintech, Banking or Telecom is preferredKnowledge of the CEMAC financial markets and banking system regulatory environmentFintech risk environment, financial, Technology & Operational riskBusiness Continuity ManagementEthics management, Process Compliance, Audit Sampling & Analysis, Relationship/people managementAnalytical thinking, Continuous improvement, Data interpretation, Delivery focused and Relationship buildingBenefitsCompetitive salary commensurate with experienceHealth Insurance coverage and complimentary insurance planOpportunities for professional development and growth within a dynamic and innovative companyCollaborative work environment that values teamwork, creativity, and excellenceDaily Employee breakfast in OfficeA great opportunity to work closely with Department Heads, across various teams and contribute to the success of a leading FinTech organization.
