Job Description

What The Day Will Look LikeAs the Head of Data & Analytics APAC, you will play a pivotal role in guiding Aon’s analytical capabilities, leveraging data to uncover growth levers, optimize business processes, and solve complex analytical challenges. You will ensure that data strategy aligns with organizational goals and drives the development of data culture, policies, and governance, championing data-driven decision-making and fostering collaboration across various business units. As the APAC D&A Leader, you will manage a team to deliver Data & Analytics capabilities to Aon’s business. You will lead, develop, and maintain the data and analytics strategy for the region, working to enhance efficiency, execution, and colleague experience. Working as part of a global function, this role involves building stakeholder relationships, driving a modernization of data analytic tools, as well as driving the development, implementation, and promotion of data governance and quality frameworks and strategies.Stakeholder RelationshipsCollaborate with senior stakeholders to align analytics initiatives with business objectives and requests and work closely to achieve delivery of quality outputs.Supervise team performance, development, and task delegation.Data Strategy And GovernanceSet a clear vision for addressing short-, mid-, and long-term business questions through data strategy.Establish governance models to ensure data quality, security, privacy, and ethical management.Champion automation and lean processes to improve data capture and standardization.Build and manage the technical team, fostering awareness of their impact on business outcomes.Interface with other departments to align decisions with company goals and prevent duplication of efforts.Present advancements of key data projects to leadership and challenge existing manual processes for improvement.Work with business teams to understand & define their key data needs to support analytics and operational delivery for clients.Work with Aon’s Central Data Office to develop, implement, and maintain data governance policies, procedures, and standards in alignment with industry practices and regulatory requirements.Support with establishing the framework and operating model that enables effective data governance & management locally in the region.Collaborate with multi-functional teams to define data governance roles and responsibilities and promote a culture of data stewardship and accountability.Support identify and assign data stewards within the region.Supervise the data steward & business/data analyst activities and provide guidance/support.Establish and implement data quality standards, critical metrics and processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data across all systems and platforms.Report on progress on data cleaning / data quality activities.Support regional and global MDM activities and outcome/critical metric delivery.Prioritize and coordinate data governance & management initiatives within region helping provide the vital resources to carry them out.Participate in global and regional data governance forums.Data Operations And EngineeringEnsure key data operation tasks are maintained to guarantee business continuity.Monitor pipeline health, manage DevOps processes, manage code versions repository, and provide structured and modeled data for various teams.Responsible for data ingestion from source systems and other data sources into Data Lake.Align infrastructure and architecture in accordance with best practices and global guidelines.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to leverage capabilities and respond to organizational needs.Data Visualization, Analytics And Reporting DeliveryLead analytics projects and generate actionable insights through advanced analytics, data modeling, and segmentation to optimize business outcomes and drive critical initiatives.Drive the automation and self-service approach for reporting needs.Provide data quality analysis of issues to stakeholders and ensure data integrity and reporting quality.Skills And Experience That Will Lead To SuccessAt least 10 years in a leadership role within BI, analytics, and/or data analytics.Proven experience working within financial services or insurance is preferred.Background in data-related fields such as data analysis and visualization, data quality, data warehousing, data engineering, and financial reporting.Strong affinity with trends in AI & Data, including data governance and quality.Expertise with relational databases, warehousing, and lake-house technologies (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Blob Storage, AWS S3).Experience in logical and physical data model design and broader data architecture design.Development experience in SQL, Python for data processing, and PowerBI.Fluency in English, Portuguese, and Spanish.Exceptional communication skills with the ability to simplify complex information effectively.Experience working in large, complex environments with a diverse range of stakeholders across multiple business units.Ability to influence colleagues and related data areas toward best practices and technology adoption.Passion for pushing automation and digitalization in data processes.Adept at creating documentation and data dictionaries for internal and external users.How we support our colleaguesIn addition to our comprehensive benefits package, we encourage a diverse workforce.
