Job DescriptionTrusted connectivity and digitalization are critical for Defense. In this context, we are enlarging our Brussels based Geopolitical and Government Relations Team with a ‘Head of Defense Affairs’. The role will develop and expand trusted relationships with NATO, EU and Ministries of Defense as well as advocate for appropriate defense policies.How You Will Contribute And What You Will LearnBring Nokia brand awareness to NATO and defense organizations in EU and Europe, establishing trust for Nokia as a partner for the ‘digitalization of defense’.Advocate for appropriate defense rules & policies at NATO, EU and MoDsIdentify relevant funding for Nokia’s defense activities (dual use R&D, trials,..) – guide Nokia in successfully applying for identified funding.Investigate, select and participate in relevant trade associations working on defense and security issues.Develop a strong network in the defense sector, advising Nokia’s business groups on defense matters.Key Skills And ExperienceIdeally a defence background (officer, Ministry of Defence), with knowledge of NATO, EU Defense and MoD institutions, incl. procurement and funding processes.The role requires the ability to work cooperatively and effectively in a complex environment where flexibility and influencing skills are essential.Experience in governmental and industry relationshipsAbility to build relationships and communicate messages that concerns our business and industryAbility to communicate complex concepts quickly, concisely and effectivelyStrong language skills, both written and verbal, very fluent English is a basic requirementHigh ethical standardsAble to manage confidential information and projectsAbout Us Come create the technology that helps the world act togetherNokia is committed to innovation and technology leadership across mobile, fixed and cloud networks.
