Shape the future of our service in providing evidence based clinical care to children and families.CRVCID. 705163This is a Permanent Full Time appointment.About The RolePerth Children’s Hospital (PCH) Department of Allied Health is seeking a leader with vision, clinical expertise and a deep commitment to service excellence, to join CAHS as Head of Department – Audiology.This is an exciting opportunity to lead our dynamic team delivering specialist paediatric audiology services. This is the only tertiary paediatric audiology service within Western Australia and you will work closely within a multidisciplinary environment.Reporting to the Director Allied Health, you will be responsible for the strategic management, planning, and advancement of paediatric audiology services across CAHS. You will oversee the delivery of evidence-based, patient-centred care; provide direct clinical support at an advanced practice level; and lead service innovation, research, and continuous improvement across the department. This is an opportunity to shape the future of paediatric audiology—leading research, driving advanced clinical practice, and developing innovative models of care, including the state’s Children’s Hearing Implant Program (CHIP).As a key member of the Allied Health leadership team, you will balance strategic vision with operational excellence to ensure high-quality outcomes for children, young people, and their families across Western Australia. This means driving clinical excellence through reflective and evidence-based practice, and continuing to foster our culture of collaboration, inclusivity, and family-centred care. You will also have opportunity to contribute to statewide policy and service development.Key Responsibilities IncludeOverseeing the planning and co-ordination of audiology services, ensuring a high standard of professional services and the effective and efficient use of allocated human and physical resources within the service.Fostering a culture of clinical and professional excellence, promoting audiology as a vital hospital service and a cohesive part of the multidisciplinary teams we work within.Delivering expert clinical care and consultancy at an advanced practice level, including complex paediatric assessment, intervention, and rehabilitation, liaising with internal and external stakeholders on complex case management and best practiceFostering leadership development and clinical education programs to advance practice and enhance workforce sustainability and professional development opportunities including clinical supervision, credentialling, and capability development pathways for audiology staff (P1–P4).Fostering effective multidisciplinary and interagency partnerships to deliver coordinated, patient-centred care.Contributing to departmental policy development, service design, and clinical governance frameworks.Providing clinical supervision and taking responsibility for the development, maintenance and evaluation of professional standards of clinical care within the department.Leading research and quality improvement initiatives to drive service innovation, quality improvement, and maintain clinical excellence across all audiology streams.Advising, consulting and representing the hospital with community services, external agencies and consumer groups.This is an exciting opportunity to lead a highly skilled team in a challenging yet rewarding environment. If you are a compassionate, forward-thinking leader with extensive experience leading clinical teams and service delivery in acute or paediatric settings we encourage you to apply.Please note a Tertiary qualification in Audiology and eligibility for full membership of the Audiological Society of Australia (ASA) is a requirement for this role.About Our TeamThe Audiology Department at Perth Children’s Hospital (PCH) provides specialist, tertiary-level hearing services for children and young people from birth to 16 years of age across Western Australia, including diagnosis, management, and rehabilitation for hearing and balance disorders, ensuring early detection and continuity of care.Our audiologists work collaboratively with families, medical teams, and community providers to deliver timely, accurate, and family-centred care. The team also works closely with the Ear, Nose, Throat and Otolaryngology (ENT) Department and the WA Newborn Hearing Screening Program to ensure infants suspected of having hearing difficulties are promptly identified and managed. PCH Audiology also delivers the Children’s Hearing Implant Program (CHIP) — a statewide service providing end-to-end care for children with severe to profound hearing loss.In addition to clinical care, the department is actively engaged in research, education, and service innovation, contributing to national and international best practice in paediatric audiology and cochlear implantation.
