Head of Engineering

At Liberatii, we're shaking up the $60B SQL database market, by building a SW layer that makes databases interchangeable. Our customers are enterprises who are desperate to migrate their mission-critical applications to more modern, affordable databases - without having to spend $millions per application to rewrite them. We just completed our first pilot with a production application, proving the technology can work.We're looking for an exceptional Head of Engineering to help us go fast after this $60B opportunity as an early-mover in the space.In this pivotal role, you'll have the opportunity to: Build and lead a small, fast-moving team creating one of the most disruptive products in the Database space Work closely with the CEO, CTO and early customers to align technical and business goals Establish practices to enable the team to consistently hit unreasonable deadlines, while maintaining high standards of quality Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence while embracing our core valuesTo excel in this role, you'll need: Experience leading a team of high-urgency software engineers Deep understanding of database internals, data structures, algorithms, and low-latency programming Experience solving a complex software challenge, such as building a compiler or a mission-critical distributed system An eye for spotting talented engineers - even early in their career An ability to explain complex technical concepts simplyToday, we use the following technologies: Linux C++ Postgres SQL TypeScript Docker Kubernetes Azure/AWS Cloud GithubAt Liberatii, we’re building an environment where innovation, collaboration, and growth can flourish.
