Head of English Editorial

Role PurposeLead the English editorial team responsible for developing strategic news content, features, and narratives that reflect the organization’s priorities and promote the UAE’s position locally and internationally. The role requires exceptional editorial judgment, storytelling ability, and experience managing writers and editors to deliver impactful, high-quality English-language output.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and guide a team of English editors and writers to deliver compelling, accurate, and timely content.Oversee the editorial planning and production of strategic news, press releases, speeches, and feature stories.Craft and refine narratives that support the organization’s communication strategy and enhance reputation.Ensure editorial consistency, tone, and accuracy across all English-language outputs.Review and approve high-level content for senior leadership and official channels.Collaborate closely with the Arabic editorial and media relations teams to ensure message alignment.Maintain strong awareness of global media trends and ensure international relevance of English content.Coach team members to strengthen writing quality, newsroom efficiency, and editorial discipline.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or English.Minimum 15 years of experience in English editorial roles, including leadership of newsroom or content teams.Proven track record in writing and editing strategic news, speeches, and long-form content.Native or near-native English proficiency with outstanding editing and storytelling skills.Experience in government, media, or strategic communication environments is essential.Strong understanding of international news standards and UAE-related subject matter.
