Job Description

We are conducting a confidential executive search seeking a Head of Europe Marine Logistics to build and lead Heavy Industry’s European marine logistics operations from the ground up.This is a strategic leadership role responsible for establishing a full-scale logistics and chartering organization to manage end-to-end heavy transport of wind-tower and monopile components from Asia to Europe.The ideal candidate will be a proven builder ; someone who has developed teams, systems, and operations from zero, combining commercial and technical acumen in heavy-lift, project cargo, or offshore wind logistics.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild the Europe Marine Logistics team covering chartering, port handling, and yard management.Develop operational standards and SOPs aligned with European port regulations and global logistics framework.Oversee end-to-end project execution — vessel scheduling, unloading, customs, and last-mile delivery.Manage relationships with shipowners, brokers, and European port authorities.Drive return cargo (backhaul) initiatives to optimize vessel utilization and shipping cost efficiency.Ensure compliance with EU maritime safety, environmental, and ETS requirements.RequirementsBachelor’s degree or above in Marine Engineering, Logistics, or relatedfield.Minimum 10 years of international marinelogistics or heavy-lift transport experience, ideally within offshore wind, oil & gas, or industrial projectcargo.Proven track record in chartering, vesseloperations, and port management across major European ports (Rotterdam, Hamburg, Antwerp, Eemshaven, etc.).Strong understanding of European maritime regulations, customs procedures, and environmental policies (ETS, IMO).Familiar with port tariff systems, vessel scheduling, and multi-modal logistics planning.Skilled in project execution, cost control, and risk management throughout shipping operations.Excellent negotiation andrelationship-building skills withshipowners, brokers, and port authorities.Proven record of team creation and operational leadership across Europe’s major ports (e.g., Rotterdam, Hamburg, Antwerp, Eemshaven).Strong background in chartering, port operations, and fleet optimization.Personal AttributesStrategic thinker with strong executionand organizational abilities.High resilience under pressure and proactive problem-solving approach.Team-oriented leader with capability to drive performance in complex, cross-border operations.Compensation€160,000 and €220,000 base plus bonusCompetitive benefit package
