The ideal candidate will be passionate about education and thrive in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment. This role is multidisciplinary and requires proficiency in finance, accounting, operations, HR, and compliance. The Head of Finance will need to be self-directed and lead the strategy and execution of the fund’s finance functions. This role provides the opportunity to take on additional responsibility and to grow within the fund. Key ResponsibilitiesFund Management•Manage the fund administrator to prepare the fund’s financial statements and execute and reconcile all cash transactions,including: investments, capital calls, distributions, and expense payments.•Lead the preparation of quarterly management accounts for LPs.•Create and monitor the management company operating budget.•Oversee implementation of the portfolio valuation policy and track all portfolio company KPIs and fund performance metrics. •Support the fund administrator in completing year end audits and tax filings by gathering all necessary documentation and responding to requests from third-party audit and tax teams.•Field all LP requests as it relates to fund performance. •Prepare financial models and marketing materials for new potential LPs.•Oversee all regulatory reporting and compliance.•Work with portfolio companies in developing robust financial models/practices Operations / HR •Help select and manage all third-party service providers including insurance broker, administrator, auditor, banking institution, legal counsel, HR provider, etc. •Manage all HR processes including hiring, on-boarding, payroll, benefits administration, employee handbook, performance reviews, etc. •Support office management and all matters related to facilities Qualifications•University degree in finance, accounting, business or a related field preferred •5+ years experience in large public accounting/audit, investment management, business operations or other relevant work experience •Direct experience working with a venture capital fund and/or startup is a plus.•Strong analytical, accounting and financial modeling skills required.•Extremely organized, exceptional attention to detail and process oriented.•Superior written and oral communication skills •Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively represent Brighteye to external stakeholders including vendors, LPs and founders. •Ability to manage multiple work streams and effectively prioritize tasks.•Proactive, self-starter who is comfortable taking on a variety of responsibilities and working in a dynamic, collaborative work environment.•High integrity and sense of ownership.•Interest in education and tech a plus.•International networks and work experience a plus•Fluent English, additional languages a plus
