You’ll act as a sparring partner to the Managing Director and leadership team, ensuring that every part of the organization — from finance to HR — runs smoothly, transparently, and with foresight.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Leadership & Controlling• Take ownership of the financial management across all entities (Belgium, UK, Romania).• Oversee accounting, consolidation, VAT, and tax compliance (supported by local external accountants)• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning; create transparency on profitability drivers.• Strengthen controlling and performance management, including: • Profitability by consultant, client, and project • Resource allocation and utilization metrics • Forward-looking financial models and dashboards• Provide strategic insights that link financial data to business performance and operational strategy.• Safeguard cashflow, capital efficiency, and intercompany structures.• Prepare reports and recommendations for management and board-level discussions.Operations & Process Excellence• Review, refine, and optimize existing operational and administrative processes.• Ensure that tools (time tracking, project accounting, reporting) deliver reliable and actionable data.• Lead the development of automated dashboards and performance tools (in collaboration with internal developers).• Drive cross-functional alignment between Finance, Operations, HR, and Delivery teams.• Establish routines and controls that scale with international growth.HR & People Operations• Oversee and improve HR operations, ensuring compliance, structure, and transparency.• Coordinate payroll validation, contracts, and benefits across entities.• Support the leadership team in workforce planning, headcount forecasting, and compensation modeling.• Strengthen people metrics and reporting (e.g., utilization, capacity, turnover, engagement).• Partner with management to align people strategy with business objectives — creating a scalable HR backbone for growth.Profile & QualificationsWho You Are• A seasoned finance and operations professional who combines financial acumen with strategic thinking.• You think like a CFO but act like a builder — strategic in outlook, yet practical enough to dive into details when needed.• You’re analytical, structured, and solution-oriented, yet able to see beyond numbers and understand business dynamics.• You enjoy bringing clarity and control into growing organizations.• You naturally connect finance, operations, and HR to business performance.Your BackgroundMinimum 10 years of progressive experience in finance, controlling, and operations — ideally in consulting, professional services, or a similar project-driven environment.Deep expertise in financial control, performance reporting, and process improvement.Masters Degree and certified accountantProven success in optimizing financial and operational systems for scale.Understanding of HR processes, payroll coordination, and workforce planning.Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP/accounting tools (Exact Online or equivalent).Familiarity with automation, data integration, or dashboarding (e.g., APIs, Power BI) is a strong plus.LanguagesDutch: fluentEnglish: fluentFrench or German: an advantageWhat We Offer• A senior leadership role with real influence in an international, growing B2B consultancy.• The opportunity to shape and optimize our financial, operational, and HR backbone for the next growth phase.• Direct collaboration with the Managing Director (main shareholder) and leadership team.• Hybrid working model (mainly Mechelen HQ + home office).• Competitive senior package.
