Head of Controlling / FP&A – High-Growth Fintech – Berlin - 3 days a week in the office c.€150k with discretionary bonusI am supporting a high-growth, asset-focused fintech in Berlin in the search for a Head of Controlling. The company operates an international subscription model and is scaling its financial steering, planning and analytics capabilities. The role reports directly to the CFO and leads a team of four.Responsibilities:Essential:• Own and further develop the company’s full financial planning framework, ensuring strong alignment across P&L, balance sheet and cash flow.• Build and maintain robust three-statement financial models that link key business drivers to liquidity, asset performance and long-term profitability.• Lead the annual budget cycle and periodic forecasting across all business units, including establishing a rolling forecast.• Drive financial analysis to support executive decision-making and improve business performance.• Define, implement and monitor KPIs in partnership with data and business teams.• Own unit economics reporting and the internal steering processes.• Build and run pricing and business controlling in collaboration with commercial teams.• Monitor asset performance across its lifecycle, including valuation, residual values, repair efficiency and remarketing outcomes.• Identify risks, opportunities and cost efficiencies with business leaders and ensure structured tracking of initiatives.• Deliver high-quality management reporting for senior leadership and Board-level audiences.• Prepare materials for Board and investor discussions.Requirements:Experience in leasing, consumer lending, B2C fintech or asset-heavy models is strongly preferred; consulting or banking backgrounds are welcome if supported by strong financial modelling and some operational exposure.• 10+ years in Controlling or Operational Finance within dynamic, international environments.• Advanced financial modelling skills (cash flow, balance sheet, P&L, three-statement models).• Strong portfolio analytics experience.• Hands-on experience leading budget planning cycles, KPI steering processes, linking KPIs to OKRs and improving management reporting.• Board-level presentation experience.• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience with a hands-on approach.• Strong user of modern BI tools such as PowerBI, Tableau or Looker; ideally able to build dashboard front-ends.• Highly analytical, data-driven and commercially minded, with strong business case evaluation skills.• Ability to be in Berlin several days per week; English fluency required, German a plus.If you are interested in exploring a senior finance leadership role within a fast-scaling fintech environment in Berlin, please get in touch confidentially for more details.
