Job Description

We are looking to recruit a pivotal FP&A leadership role within a high-performing, high growth business with an impressive EBITDA of 30%. Our client is currently in a period of growth and transformation, and this role will suit a commercially astute finance professional who can drive accountability, ensure accuracy of reporting, and deliver deep performance insight across a complex, project-led environment.You will act as a trusted advisor and challenger to the business — ensuring project profitability, utilisation, and revenue recognition are robustly measured, reported, and optimised.Key ResponsibilitiesLead financial performance reporting and analysis across business units, focusing on utilisation rates, billing, project margins, and overall profitability.Oversee and challenge revenue recognition (particularly on fixed-price and long-term contracts) to ensure compliance and accuracy.Partner with Project Managers to assess progress and financial health of projects - interrogating assumptions, cost forecasts, and completion estimates.Ensure robust controls and reporting measures are in place to maintain accuracy and consistency of management information.Drive continuous improvement in reporting accuracy, forecasting quality, and data integrity across systems and processes.Provide commercial challenge and insight to leadership, enabling data-driven decisions on pricing, resourcing, and delivery performance.Support development of project profitability dashboards, key performance indicators (KPIs), and executive-level reporting.Collaborate with operational and finance teams to enhance utilisation and billing efficiency.Play a key role in exit readiness and value creation initiatives, aligning reporting with investor and strategic objectives.Candidate ProfileQualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with strong post-qualification experience in FP&A, commercial finance, or project accounting.Proven experience in fixed-price or long-term contract environments would be useful - understanding revenue recognition and WIP accounting.Strong analytical capability with a focus on accuracy, control, and commercial challenge.Confident partnering with senior stakeholders and project managers to drive accountability and insight.Excellent understanding of project performance metrics - utilisation, billing rates, margins, and forecast accuracy.Experience in large, complex, multi-entity organisations undergoing change or transformation.Systems literate with advanced Excel and strong exposure to ERP/reporting tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite or Power BI).Package & OpportunityBase salary - circa £100,000Car allowanceBonus tied to performance and value creationExposure to a business in transformation and within a critical window of changeSignificant visibility with senior leadership and opportunity to influence business performance at scale
