This is a pivotal leadership role with a clear mandate: to elevate our health and safety standards, embed a strong safety culture, and demonstrate—internally and externally—that DLG places the highest priority on the safety and well-being of our people.As Head of Health & Safety Excellence, you will lead and implement a strong and aligned approach to health and safety, ensuring coordination, consistency, and continuous improvement across departments and locations.Key Responsibilities Lead, implement, and monitor a strong and aligned approach to health and safety across the organization. Ensure full compliance with relevant regulations while continuously raising safety standards. Translate risk assessments and insights into proactive, practical initiatives. Partner with leadership, employees, and local safety organizations to ensure alignment and share best practices. Serve as a trusted advisor on health and safety matters across business units and geographies. Foster a safety-first mindset at every level of the organization. Design and deliver impactful training and engagement programs. Promote ownership of safety among employees and leaders alike. Develop transparent reporting systems that measure progress and identify opportunities for improvement. Present insights and recommendations to senior leadership and the Board. Establish clear KPIs to track both cultural and operational improvements. Facilitate the Group Board across all four business unitsSuccess Will Be Measured By Reduction in work-related injuries, illnesses, and lost time incidents. Decrease in absenteeism linked to health and safety issues. High completion rates for health and safety training across the Group. Positive employee feedback on safety culture and engagement. Implementation and impact of preventive initiatives. Timeliness and accuracy of reports to management and stakeholders. Measurable cost savings through reduced absenteeism and improved efficiency.Decision-Making AuthorityThe Head of Health & Safety Excellence has the authority to veto: Policies or strategies that fail to comply with legal requirements or company standards. Initiatives that do not adequately address identified risks. Decisions that compromise a strong, safety-focused culture or employee well-being.Your Profile Proven experience in a senior health, safety, or environment leadership role within a large, complex, international organization. Deep knowledge of occupational health & safety legislation, compliance frameworks, and best practice. Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategy across multiple business units and geographies. Strong stakeholder management skills, with a history of building alignment across diverse functions. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to transform data into actionable strategies. Experience in leading cultural change initiatives in safety and well-being.
