As the senior HR leader for the country, you will own all people-related functions, from strategic business partnership to operational excellence. You will act as a key partner to the Country CEO and the leadership team, designing and driving HR initiatives that support our business, foster a high-performance culture, and ensure a best-in-class employee experience.This role is ideal for a leader who thrives on both strategy and execution. You will be managing and developing a team of two HR professionals, with the mandate to assess and evolve the team structure to meet future business needs.What you will be doingHR Leadership & Business PartnershipDevelop and implement HR priorities that directly support Jumia's business objectives in Ivory Coast.Serve as a trusted advisor to the Country CEO and leadership team, providing strategic counsel and practical guidance on all people-related matters.Represent the HR function in country leadership meetings, ensuring the people agenda is a core part of the business conversation.Manage the country's HR budget and resources efficiently to deliver on key priorities.Act as the key liaison between country operations and the Group CHRO, ensuring local HR strategy is aligned with our global HR framework.Team Leadership & DevelopmentLead, mentor, and build the capability of the local HR team to operate as effective business partners.Assess the current HR team structure, processes, and capabilities, implementing changes to build a function that is scalable and aligned with business needs.Talent ManagementArchitect and oversee the full talent lifecycle, from talent acquisition and development to retention strategies, to attract and grow the best talent.Own all aspects of the employee experience, managing employee relations and performance management effectively.Drive performance and capability-building initiatives across all departments.Employee EngagementChampion the employee voice by leading the "Jumia Barometer" engagement survey process, from analysis to creating and executing impactful action plans with the leadership team.Drive key engagement initiatives that strengthen our organizational culture and make Jumia Ivory Coast an exceptional place to work.HR Operations and ComplianceGuarantee the accuracy and integrity of all HR data across our systems, ensuring a foundation of operational excellence.Oversee the HR Operations team to ensure employee records are maintained with the highest standards of completeness and confidentiality.Ensure timely and accurate HR reporting to both Group HR and country leadership.Serve as the ultimate authority on Ivorian labour law, ensuring full compliance with all local regulations and Jumia policies.Learning & DevelopmentImplement centrally developed L&D programs, skillfully adapting them to meet the specific needs of the Ivorian context.Coordinate the effective delivery of all training initiatives within the country.Identify local learning needs and provide valuable input to the Group L&D team to shape future programs.Track and report on training completion and effectiveness to demonstrate impact.What we are looking forExperience: Minimum of 7+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 4 years in a management or leadership role.Local Expertise: In-depth, expert knowledge of Ivorian labour law and HR best practices is mandatory.Strategic & Hands-on Approach: A proactive leader who can think strategically and translate plans into tangible action, with a strong sense of ownership.Leadership: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing HR team, with experience in assessing team structures being a plus.Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
