With a global team of over 4,000 highly skilled developers, consultants, analysts and product owners, we engineer technology that redefines industries and shapes the way people live.About the role:The Senior HR Generalist Canada & USA will act as a senior individual contributor, leading and executing the HR agenda across the US and Canada. This role plays a crucial part in aligning regional HR practices with Ciklum’s global strategy, ensuring legal compliance, and delivering best-in-class support to employees and managers. The role requires a hands-on approach, strategic mindset, and strong knowledge of local labor and immigration regulations.Responsibilities:Strategic HR Partnership:Act as the main HR point of contact for business leaders and employees in the regionDrive and execute HR processes and initiatives in line with global HR strategy and local business needsProvide expert guidance on complex HR issues including organizational changes, workforce planning, and talent developmentHR Operations & Employee Lifecycle:Manage the full employee lifecycle: onboarding, performance management, development, engagement, retention, and exit processesEnsure smooth onboarding and cultural integration of new hiresConduct regular 1:1 check-ins with employees to identify potential attrition risks early and take timely action to address concerns and improve retentionHandle offboarding and exit interviews, providing insights to improve employee experienceEmployee Relations & Compliance:Advise managers on employee relations matters, disciplinary processes, and conflict resolution in accordance with company policies and local lawsEnsure compliance with federal, state, and provincial employment legislation in both the US and CanadaKeep up to date with labor law changes and ensure policies are updated accordinglyImmigration & Mobility:Provide hands-on support for all immigration-related processes, including visa sponsorships (e.g., H-1B, TN, L-1), green card applications, and relocationsLiaise with legal counsel, external vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and compliant immigration case managementAct as the regional expert on immigration and cross-border employment matters, proactively tracking changes in legislationCompensation, Benefits & Payroll:Support salary review processes, including benchmarking and market analysis in coordination with Global HR and FinanceCollaborate with payroll providers to ensure accurate and timely payroll executionManage local benefits programs and recommend improvements based on employee feedback and market practicesEmployee Engagement & Culture:Champion regional employee engagement and recognition initiativesSupport global programs related to wellbeing, DEI, and career development, adapting them to local context as neededHR Reporting & Data:Maintain accurate HR records in line with data privacy lawsPrepare and analyze HR metrics and reports to support data-driven decision makingRequirements:5–7 years of experience in a Human Resources Generalist or similar role, ideally in a multinational or fast-paced environmentSolid hands-on experience in personnel administration and payroll processesProfound knowledge of U.S. and Canadian labor law and HR compliance regulationsProven experience supporting immigration and mobility cases (e.g., visa sponsorship, relocation, work permits)Fluent in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skillsAdvanced user of MS Office (especially Excel and Word), Google Docs, and HRIS/HR admin systemsStrong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills; able to build trust and influence without formal authorityFast and effective in troubleshooting and escalation handling, with a solution-oriented mindsetDemonstrated organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectivelyComfortable working independently while closely collaborating with global and regional teamsWhat`s in it for you?Strong community: Work alongside top professionals in a friendly, open-door environmentGrowth focus: Take on large-scale projects with a global impact and expand your expertiseTailored learning: Boost your skills with internal events (meetups, conferences, workshops), Udemy access, language courses, and company-paid certificationsEndless opportunities: Explore diverse domains through internal mobility, finding the best fit to gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologiesCare: Healthcare, Basic Life Insurance, Short and Long-term disability insurance according to the Company’s Benefit PlansAbout us:At Ciklum, we are always exploring innovations, empowering each other to achieve more, and engineering solutions that matter.
