Job Description
We have been exclusively assigned by a services business who are looking to recruit an Internal Audit Manager for Germany. The successful candidate will ensure full compliance with German Commercial Code (HGB) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), working closely with auditors.The Audit Manager will lead the internal audit function for Germany, ensuring that the company’s internal controls, risk management, and governance processes are effective and compliant with German regulations and international standards.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute a risk-based internal audit plan aligned with corporate strategy.Serve as a trusted advisor to senior managementOversee financial, operational, compliance, and IT audits across business units.Identify control weaknesses, inefficiencies, and process improvement opportunities.Ensure corrective action plans are implemented and tracked to completion.Strengthen the company’s risk management framework and internal control environment.Support compliance with German Commercial Code (HGB)Liaise with external auditors and regulators when necessary.Qualifications & ExperienceDegree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.Professional certifications are highly preferred:3 - 5 year of audit experienceExperience in a services industry is preferred (e.g., IT, consulting, logistics, or professional services).Strong understanding of IFRS/HGB.Fluent in German is a mustThere is some flexibility where the candidate is based in Germany. The role could suit a candidate who is currently working for a large auditing business, seeking their first role in industry.
