If you’re driven to turn complexity into clarity and lead a team that challenges the ordinary, this is your opportunity to make an impact that matters.Your new role The Head of Market Access will be a highly visible role with responsibility for overseeing, developing and implementing affiliate-wide Market Access strategies. Responsible for managing the right structure, capacity and tools for Pricing and Market Access and for leading and developing the right organizational capabilities in the affiliate. Plays a key role in formulating affiliate pricing strategies with responsibility for managing the pricing corridor for the Novo Nordisk portfolio in close liaison with regional office and International Operation (IO).In this high-impact role, you will:Develop evidence and relevant Market Access arguments to provide recommendations to management for optimizing market access and shaping the local healthcare environment. Serves as ambassador for the company and responsible for strengthening, developing, and influencing local external policy and regulations to support market access, while enhancing and protecting the reputation of the company with relevant stakeholders.Market Access Strategy & Leadership: Develop a long term Market Access strategy aligned with Global, Regional, and Affiliate objectives. Integrate pricing and access into a coherent, actionable affiliate plan. Manage resources and skills (short /mid /long term workforce planning; training; competency gaps; succession); communicate shared vision and priorities, build a high performance team (delegate, manage performance, recognize achievements, drive improvements); uphold Business Ethics and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) compliance.Monitor and anticipate healthcare system and competitive changes and share insights across the organization; represent the affiliate in Regional/International Operations (IO) Market Access forums and local external platforms; define and deliver MA team outputs and localize strategic Market Access frameworks (payer engagement, negotiation, objection handling); ensure appropriate MAPA structure, resources, incentives, cross collaboration and clear roles.Value Communication / Health Economic Outcomes Research (HEOR): Ensure high standards for all Health Economics studies (clinical, prospective/retrospective, Real World Evidence (RWE)) and compliance with SOPs and payer requirements; lead development of value dossiers and a compelling value story through cross functional alignment; identify and deliver local Health Economic Outcomes Research (HEOR) training needs; provide RWE/clinical development/strategy advice to Regional/IO; monitor HTA developments and participate in external Health Economics forums.Pricing and Contracting: Ensure compliance with Global and IO pricing strategies and adapt to local context to maximize revenue (use evaluation expectations, intrinsic value, precedent, modeling); mitigate price pressure via portfolio thinking and mid/long term insights to optimize contracting outcomes; participate in local external pricing forums.Field-based Market Access: Identify and develop field based MA capabilities; lead critical negotiations and secure agreements within optimal timeframes while ensuring internal alignment; provide alternative options for non agreement scenarios.Your new departmentThe Market Access department at Novo Nordisk is at the forefront of ensuring that our innovative therapies reach patients worldwide. Join us in our mission to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients.Your Skills & QualificationsWe are looking for a candidate who meets the following qualifications:10–15+ years of progressive experience in Market Access, Pricing & Reimbursement, HEOR, and Public/Government Affairs within the pharmaceutical industry. Proven expertise in at least two of the following areas: pricing strategy, outcomes research, health economics, brand value communication, advocacy development, payer engagement, market access, government affairs, stakeholder mapping and management, customer insights, value proposition development, and negotiation/business acquisition. Exposure to additional areas is highly desirable.Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a pharmaceutical related field; fluent in written and spoken English; strong analytical and strategic thinking with practical implementation of tactical plans.Management experience with broad cross functional leadership and strong people management (preferably leading large/diverse teams); proven ability to build networks with healthcare decision makers (government, payers, insurers, policymakers, KOLs).Track record of delivering business objectives with multiple stakeholders; skilled at communicating complex issues persuasively to decision makers.Demonstrated capability across pricing/contracting, HEOR/value communication and payer/government engagement (including stakeholder mapping, advocacy, negotiation and customer insight) to drive access and reimbursement outcomes.Working at Novo NordiskEvery day we seek the solutions that defeat serious chronic diseases.
