This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead the Model Risk Management (MRM) team in the interesting and rapidly evolving field of model risk. About UsOur MRM team is part of Enterprise risk management in Group Risk Management (GRM). The team consists of 55 employees and is split between Copenhagen and Vilnius, with some travel between locations expected. As part of the Danske Bank group, the team plays a crucial role in managing model risk across the organisation, ensuring trust and understanding in the models we use while adhering to regulatory and internal standards. The work environment is collaborative, with a strong focus on innovation and professional growth.About The RoleYou will support the entire Danske Bank group and be responsible for helping to building trust and understanding in the models we use. You will set sound model risk standards, following up with appropriate KPIs and monitoring, along with sound model risk validations and risk assessments.You will: Lead End-to-End risk management of models in the Danske bank group (standards, governance, validation…) Set strategic vision for MRM. Ensure development and execution of the MRM Policy and framework requirements to meet regulatory and internal standards, including setting the model risk Tolerance for the Danske Bank Group Lead MRM team, ensure strong team spirit and motivation of dual location teams Develop our model risk management techniques to align with best practice and emerging model risk issues (particularly related to GenAI) Exercise the 2nd line responsibilities for Model risk management as defined in the board approved policy, relevant regulation and the Enterprise risk Management Policy. Lead the Model Risk Committee and represent MRM at the relevant committees of the Group, and external forums, ensure that the relevant actions are taken to manage model risk in the group. Effectively manage and advise key model risk stakeholders The position will be based in Copenhagen, and your title will be Head of Model Risk.Who are we looking for?We are looking for a strategic thinker with a strong execution mindset and a great interest in sound model risk management, you bring: Quantitative/analytical academic background Knowledge of Model Risk Management frameworks and approaches in international (especially Nordic and European) banks, ideally covering a range of risk types Knowledge of model risk-related European and Global model and data risk regulation Demonstrated capability to manage large teams of people, including managing leaders 15+ years of experience of working in the Financial sector (preferably banks) Demonstrated capability to manage senior stakeholders.
