We are exclusively representing a European, VC-backed B2B SaaS company post-Series A, entering the next phase of growth. With 150+ employees across multiple European locations and ambitious expansion plans, the business is building scalable infrastructure while maintaining the agility and entrepreneurial spirit that got them here.We are now looking for a Head of People & Culture who wants to step into a highly visible leadership role and truly shape the People function of a scaling tech business.This is not a purely strategic ivory-tower role. Nor is it purely operational. It is both.Along with designing the people strategy, you'll roll up your sleeves for operational tasks. You will partner with the CFO and senior leadership on workforce planning and organisational design, and still be close enough to the business to know what’s really happening on the ground.If you are ready for your first Head of role and want real ownership in a high-growth SaaS environment, this is your opportunity.You will take full ownership of People & Culture across Germany and additional European entities, leading a small international team and building a scalable, data-driven HR infrastructure to support continued growth.Key Responsibilities - People Strategy & Org DesignDefine and execute the People strategy aligned to commercial growth targets.Lead workforce planning, org design, and talent mapping.Build scalable structures that move from start-up to structured scale-up.Strategic Business PartneringAct as trusted sparring partner to the CFO, Co-Founders and leadership team.Challenge constructively. Bring data, insight and perspective.Drive a high-performance culture with clear accountability.Talent Acquisition & Employer BrandOwn end-to-end hiring across functions.Build proactive sourcing capabilities and sharpen our employer positioning.Ensure we hire for performance, potential and cultural contribution.People Ops & InfrastructureOversee the full employee lifecycle across jurisdictions.Strengthen HR systems, reporting and KPI tracking.Ensure compliance with German labour law; experience in additional European labour law frameworks is highly desirable.Introduce smart automation and AI tools into day-to-day People work.Performance, Development & CompensationImplement performance management frameworks that drive outcomes.Design career paths, grading structures and compensation models.Foster a culture of continuous feedback and measurable development.Culture & EngagementTranslate company values into daily behaviours.Lead engagement initiatives and internal communications across locations.Build cohesion in a multi-site, international environment.Team LeadershipLead and develop a small People team.Set high standards, create clarity, and build ownership.To Be Successful - 6+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally within a VC- or PE-backed SaaS or tech scale-up.Strong generalist foundation: recruiting, HR operations, business partnering, and organisational development.Experience building processes from scratch, not just inheriting them.Comfortable operating in ambiguity and pace.Metrics-driven and commercially minded - you understand how People impacts EBITDA, growth and retention.Confident challenging the status quo and influencing senior stakeholders.Solid expertise in German labour law; exposure to other European jurisdictions.Experience with modern HR tech stacks and practical AI adoption in People workflows.Business-fluent German and English.Based in the Frankfurt area, with willingness to be onsite 3–4 days per week.If you’re ready to step up and leave your fingerprint on a scaling SaaS business, not just manage what already exists, reach out for a confidential conversation today - nclark@mcgregor-boyall.com
