Role: Head of Performance CreativeLocation: Brisbane, Gold Coast or Sydney (hybrid role)Compensation: $130k base + quarterly profit share (capped at $160k)Candy Claws is one of Australia’s fastest growing eCommerce brands. We’re scaling aggressively across Australia, NZ and the UK (500,000 sets sold)  and are building a world-class team to fuel growth.About YouLocated in Brisbane, Gold Coast or Sydney. If you are located in Sydney or Gold Coast you must be willing to travel to Brisbane once per fortnight (travel expenses covered). 3+ years experience in DTC eCommerce, ideally beauty or lifestyle. Deep knowledge of direct response marketing and full-funnel strategy. You know how to speak differently to customers depending on awareness stage. We don’t want pretty branded content, we want content that converts.Strong background in customer/avatar research and turning insights into new messaging angles.Finger on the pulse of social media + eCommerce trends, you know the latest formats before they’re mainstream.Proven ability to juggle multiple briefs and projects, delivering on time without losing quality.AI creative nerd: you actively work with multiple AI tools but still have the chops to write compelling direct response copy without them.Up-to-date on AI trends and tools, with hands-on experience using VEO 3, Claude and other AI-powered creative workflows to speed up production and unlock new ideas.Systems builder: you can structure processes that scale.Direct response copywriting savant: headlines, hooks, and scripts come naturally.About the RoleLess focus on managing creators for UGC, more focus on scripting and producing founder- and brand-led content.Write high-converting ad scripts for Meta.Develop creative concepts, hooks, storyboards, and briefs based on customer psychology and performance data.Translate product benefits into scroll-stopping creative angles.Define a vision for statics and video that support campaign variety and testing.Direct the founder and content lead to bring briefs to life.Generate a consistent flow of b-roll ideas for hooks and voiceover ads.Brief and direct editors; review edits for performance + brand fit.Partner with media buyers to understand what’s working and what’s not.Iterate fast: design, launch, and analyse structured creative tests.Build frameworks and systems to scale the in-house creative function.Collaborate with founders on campaigns, launches, and brand-building.Why Join Candy ClawsDirect ownership of performance creative at a high-growth DTC brand.Work closely with founders; your ideas will be implemented fast.Base role with clear path to lead and manage other creative strategists.Annual training budget for personal growth.Be part of a culture of speed, experimentation, and creativity.
