Head of Physical Operations Unit

Our main portfolio products include electricity, with a particular focus on renewable energy sources (RES), natural gas, and fuels.We are looking for a Head of Physical Operations Unit.Key Responsibilities1.Strategic Leadership:Develop and implement the vision, strategy, and operational plans for the Physical Operations unitDrive the consolidation and optimization of Power and Gas operations under a unified structure2.Operational Excellence:Oversee execution of physical energy deliveries, customs clearance, and real-time reporting (UMM REMIT, SOGL, internal)Ensure 24/7 dispatching of assets (BESS, RES) and market access maintenance (TSOs, DSOs, SSO, terminals, service providers)Lead logistics coordination, including LNG and gas storage managementManage data reconciliation, actuals, SCADA, imbalances, and regulatory transactional reporting3.Digitalization & Automation:Champion the reduction of manual workload and operational costs through automationOversee the implementation of digital tools for scheduling, nominations, and reporting across multiple markets4.Team Management:Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team, ensuring clear ownership of processes and continuous professional developmentManage resource allocation, recruitment, and succession planning5.Stakeholder Engagement:Collaborate with FO, legal, IT, and risk teams to ensure alignment and complianceServe as the primary contact for system operators, logistics providers, and infrastructure counterparties6.Performance & Compliance:Monitor KPIs (e.g., nomination accuracy, logistics disruptions, compliance rates) and drive continuous improvementEnsure adherence to regulatory standards and internal policiesRequirements:Advanced degree in Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related fields5+ years’ experience in physical operations, energy logistics, or trading environmentsProven leadership in complex, multi-country operationsStrong knowledge of energy markets, dispatching, and regulatory frameworksExperience with digital transformation and automation projectsExcellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skillsFluency in English; additional languages are a plusStrategic thinking and problem-solvingOperational and process excellenceTeam leadership and developmentDigitalization and change managementStakeholder engagement and influenceWe offer:Competitive Base salaryBenefits according to location benefits planOpportunity to work with international marketsFriendly and goal-oriented working environmentLearn more about our company and current initiatives here: D.TRADING
