ABOUT THE ROLEAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of PR & Corporate Affairs, to join our Media & Communications Department. This role will be the driving force behind the clubs PR and Corporate Affairs strategy. It will play a pivotal role in shaping how the club engages with its community, while also building meaningful relationships and expanding our reach to new audiences. This is a full-time, permanent position, commencing in January 2026. Part-time arrangements (4 days per week) may be considered for the ideal candidate.KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY Reporting directly to the Chief Communications Officer, the key areas of responsibilities will include:Oversee the management of the club’s overall public relations strategy, focused on building strong brand equity and connecting with new audiencesDevelop Corporate Affairs and PR strategies relating to key business areas and eventsMaintain and manage key stakeholder relationshipsWork alongside the GM – Media to deliver internal communications to ensure all staff, directors, and players are informed and up to date with club newsWork closely with the club’s Head of Community and Foundation to drive proactive strategies that work to support the club’s initiatives in these areas and assist in driving donations Draft speeches and communications for the club’s senior leadersDevelop and amplify positive PR opportunities to enhance the Club’s brand and reputationEnsure the club’s messaging align with brand positioning and agreed communication principlesWork with the Chief Communications Officer, GM – Media to lead the Club’s crisis management and issues response, ensuring timely and accurate communicationEngage with non-traditional media to expand the club’s reach and connect with new audiencesWork collaboratively with the media, marketing and digital teams to deliver a consistent narrative and messageSupporting the strategic objectives of the club through collaboration with internal stakeholdersTHE IDEAL CANDIDATEYou will bring extensive experience leading public relations and corporate affairs within a high-profile organisation. With a tertiary qualification in business/marketing or communications (or similar), you are confident and composed under pressure, and you thrive managing complex situations, including crisis management and dealing with adverse publicity. You have a deep understanding of branding and brand positions, which allows you to tell powerful stories that elevate an organisations reputation. As a natural leader with proven leadership capabilities, youll motivate and empower a high performing team, while collaborating with others to deliver organisational success.
