In short, We Enable Possibility℠.The Head of Pricing’s primary responsibility is to be a leader in the actuarial evaluation and communication of risk and return across a wide variety of trading opportunities, and the co-ordination and development of resources in support of actuarial pricing. They will manage the Bermuda pricing team, and report to the Chief Actuary.Key Responsibilities:Resource planning and coordination to ensure high service levels and collaboration with underwriters during peak pricing season and throughout the yearEnhancing individual trading opportunities through recommendations on deal structuring, evaluating adequacy of price levels, comparison of risk/return characteristics to other similar deals in the marketDeveloping the expertise of the pricing team and coordinating with pricing teams in other officesCreating risk and return models appropriate for the line of business and opportunity under considerationLead and/or oversee actuarial projects to improve pricing methodologies and address needs of underwriters and various other stakeholdersCreate process efficiencies that will enable the team to leverage the current actuarialEffectively communicate observations and recommendations to team members both within and outside the actuarial function; follow through on one’s convictionsEnsure results of risk and return analysis are captured using the appropriate technology to facilitate downstream processing of analysis parameters that are used in other company projectsMaintain various capital models relevant for pricing deals across multiple capital poolsResearch, educate, promote and implement data science technology to improve quality and efficiency of analyticsMinimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience:A University Degree in Mathematics, Applied Science, or similarFCAS or equivalentMinimum of 10 years’ experience in the Property and Casualty Re/Insurance industryExperience pricing a wide variety of reinsurance treaties including a range of lines of business and structures. Experience pricing retrospective trading opportunitiesProficiency in Excel and Visual BasicAbility to manipulate large databases and proficiency in SQLStrong interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to lead a team and prioritize a demanding workloadDo you like solving complex business problems, working with talented colleagues and have an innovative mindset?
