The Head of Project Controls will lead, develop, and manage the Project Controls function across all projects in the region. You will be responsible for ensuring robust cost, schedule, risk, and performance management processes are implemented and followed, enabling projects to be delivered safely, on time, and within budget. Responsibilities: Develop and implement the overall Project Controls strategy, processes, systems, and tools. Lead and manage a team of project controllers, planners, cost engineers, and schedulers. Oversee cost estimating, cost control, planning & scheduling, risk management, change control, and reporting activities for all projects.
Establish and maintain integrated project schedules and budgets, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards. Provide clear and consistent reporting on project performance, including earned value analysis, forecasts, and variance reports. Support project managers and senior stakeholders with actionable insights and recommendations. Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the Project Controls discipline. Ensure effective risk management processes are in place and support risk mitigation strategies. Liaise with clients, contractors, and partners to ensure alignment on cost and schedule performance. Develop, coach, and mentor the Project Controls team to build capability and support career progression.
Contribute to the development of bids, proposals, and contract negotiations from a cost and schedule perspective. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e. g. , AACE, PMI-SP, PMP, Prince2) are a plus. Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in Project Controls within the construction or infrastructure sector. Proven experience leading Project Controls teams on large, complex projects (EPC, infrastructure, or heavy civil works). Strong knowledge of cost management, planning & scheduling, earned value management, and risk management best practices.
Experience with major project controls software (Primavera P6, MS Project, Cost Control tools). Demonstrated ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders. Skills: Excellent leadership and people management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. High level of commercial awareness and financial acumen. Excellent communication and reporting skills. Fluent in English (German proficiency is an advantage).
