***Le poste étant situé aux États-Unis, la description de poste est disponible uniquement en anglais.***As this position in based in the United States, the job description is available in English only.***________________________________________________________Head of Props – Blue Man Group North American TourCostumes and PropsFull-Time PositionDecember 2025-June 2026About The RoleBlue Man Group, part of Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group, is seeking an experienced Head of Props to lead the Props Department for the 2026 North American Touring production.The Head of Props is responsible for the management, maintenance, and creative execution of all props, scenic elements, and consumables used in the show. This position ensures that every performance upholds Blue Man Group’s artistic standards, operational consistency, and safety protocols, while leading the Props Department and collaborating closely with other technical and creative teams on tour.Key ResponsibilitiesProps Operations and MaintenanceLead the Props Department to achieve and sustain the creative and technical vision of the production.Oversee the construction, repair, and maintenance of all props, scenic elements, and consumables in accordance with Blue Man Group’s artistic and safety standards.Manage and maintain prop inventory, cue tracks, and documentation for touring consistency.Supervise and personally run prop tracks as required, ensuring smooth execution of all show and turnover cues, including shoe cues and post-show resets.Oversee and manage the Assistant Props, ensuring proper execution of all running tracks, turnover duties, and post-show tasks in a safe, professional, and efficient manner.Troubleshoot and resolve prop-related issues efficiently to minimize performance impact.Oversee the safe use, transport, and storage of all props, ensuring compliance with tour and venue safety standards.Collaborate with the Production Manager and other department heads to adapt prop elements to fit each venue while maintaining creative integrity.Ensure prop consumables are inventoried and restocked regularly, working within established budgets and timelines.Leadership and CollaborationSupervise and schedule the Props Department, coordinating with the Production Manager, Technical Direction, and Stage Management teams.Train, supervise, and mentor local prop crews at each venue, ensuring proper handling and show consistency.Work closely with the Head of Carpentry, Head of Lighting, Head of Video, and Head of Wardrobe and Makeup to ensure smooth integration of all production elements.Participate in daily production meetings, show notes, and post-show debriefs to address technical and creative adjustments.Support and implement show notes from the Production Stage Manager and artistic leadership.Foster a collaborative, proactive, and safety-focused work environment across departments.Administration and Budget ManagementOversee departmental purchasing, inventory, and budget in collaboration with the Production Manager.Track expenditures, consumables, and maintenance costs; forecast restocking and replacements.Maintain accurate documentation, including prop cue sheets, maintenance logs, and repair reports.Manage relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and consumables.SafetyChampion and enforce all Blue Man Group and CDSEG health and safety policies across props operations.Ensure safe construction, operation, and handling of all props and scenic elements.Maintain awareness of venue-specific safety regulations and enforce compliance across the department.Promote a proactive safety culture that prioritizes the well-being of performers, crew, and local staff.Touring and Load-In/OutPlan and manage all prop-related load-ins, setups, and loadouts at each venue in coordination with the Production Manager and department heads.Oversee packing, labeling, and shipping of all prop and consumable equipment for efficient transport between venues.Assist with adapting prop setups to venue-specific layouts, sightlines, and stage configurations.Participate in special events, press appearances, or promotional performances as required.Key AttributesStrong leadership and crew management skills.Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities.Proactive problem solver with attention to detail and creative resourcefulness.Calm, confident, and adaptable under pressure.Demonstrates initiative, accountability, and adherence to artistic and technical standards.Commitment to maintaining Blue Man Group’s culture of safety, teamwork, and professionalism.QualificationsBachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in Technical Theatre, Stagecraft, or related field.Minimum 5 years of professional experience in prop management, scenic construction, or touring productions.Strong technical knowledge of materials, fabrication techniques, adhesives, pneumatics, and basic electrical systems.Experience with prop maintenance, troubleshooting, and cue track documentation.Skilled in budgeting, vendor management, and departmental forecasting.Familiarity with Blue Man Group’s performance style and prop design aesthetic is a plus.Must be able to travel domestically for extended periods (Dec 2025–Jun 2026) and maintain eligibility for U.S. employment and travel.Compensation And BenefitsThis is a full-time, exempt touring contract offering a competitive salary commensurate with experience, plus benefits during active tour periods.About Blue Man GroupBlue Man Group is a global entertainment phenomenon known for its award-winning theatrical productions, iconic characters, and euphoric celebrations of human connection through art, music, and humor.
