Join Roche, where every voice matters.The PositionThe Pharma Technical Operations (PT) department is establishing the One PT Data Office to serve as the strategic center for data governance, strategy, and enablement across the entire global PT network. This team is at the heart of our digital transformation, responsible for architecting and leading a central data office to unlock the full potential of PT’s data assets.We are looking for the Head of PT Data Governance who will be central in achieving our broader data and digital ambitions across PT. As the Head of PT Data Governance, you will be accountable for establishing this critical function in close collaboration with the Head of PT Data Acceleration, you will have the opportunity to build a high-performing team, shape the strategic direction of Data Governance in PT and nurture the right capabilities to deliver effective governance addressing current and future business problems. This role will be critical in building strong internal partnerships with executive & senior stakeholders across PT and Roche, accelerating our work with cross functional teams to unify our approach to Data Governance. This is a pivotal opportunity for a visionary leader to move beyond traditional governance, driving innovative approaches in an evolving data landscape to establish robust, future-ready data foundations from capture to utilization.The OpportunityDefine and execute PT-wide data governance strategy ensuring product safety, regulatory compliance, data quality, and a trusted data foundationProvide strategic leadership and align PT governance priorities with Roche-wide data initiatives and roadmapsAnticipate and integrate emerging trends (e.g., GenAI governance) to continuously evolve data governance practicesLead and empower a high-performing global team delivering governance across 10,000+ employees and 1,000+ systemsOversee delivery of governance capabilities: data flow/integration, privacy/security, standards, ownership/stewardship, compliance, culture, and literacyBuild strong senior stakeholder relationships, acting as the escalation point and unifying diverse stakeholders on data challengesServe as thought leader, shaping governance standards, ways of working, and fostering a culture of stewardship and maturity across PTEstablish KPIs and ROI to demonstrate value and drive continuous innovation and improvement in governance approachesWho You Are10+ years of progressive experience in data governance with deep technical expertise in processes, standards, and frameworks and 10+ years senior leadership experience in complex, regulated life sciences environmentsProven track record of delivering business value through data governance initiativesExperienced in building and leading large, high-performing global teamsExpert knowledge of governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBoK) and global regulatory requirements (GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA, GxP)Strong strategic thinker able to translate technical concepts into clear business valueExceptional communicator and influencer with proven senior stakeholder management in a global matrix organizationReady for the next step?
