Specializing in Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) T cell therapy, BioCell is at the forefront of developing innovative CAR constructs which are effective, safer, and more accessible. We are seeking driven team members with a passion for cell therapies; prior experience in cGMP manufacturing of cell and gene therapy products is preferred.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site position located in Singapore for the Head of Research and Development at BioCell Innovations. The role involves leading R&D activities, overseeing projects related to CAR T cell therapy development, and managing a skilled research team. The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping our innovation pipeline, driving new product opportunities, and ensuring operational excellence within the R&D function.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership: Lead, manage, and direct R&D programs to meet organizational goals and identify opportunities for new technologies, products, and platform development.Assay Development & Operational Excellence: Assist with the development of in-process controls to ensure product consistency, potency, and safety. Help to draft/update the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), batch manufacturing records, lead investigations to deviations, non-conformances, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) to drive continuous improvement.Project Oversight: Supervise and inspire a high-performing scientific team, troubleshoot, review and analyze data to translate findings into actionable scientific and business recommendations. Collaboration & Partnerships: Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively present and engage with stakeholders, and to foster strong collaborative relationships with academic institutions and industry to expand scientific capability and co-development opportunities.QualificationsPhD degree in Immunology, Biotechnology, or a related field.Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in cGMP-compliant manufacturing of cell and gene therapy products in industry setting, preferably CAR T-cell therapies. Industry experience is preferred.Strong track record of scientific innovation and project executionGood work ethics, an openness to ideas/feedback for continuous improvement and a collaborative mindsetFamiliarity with GMP, biosafety regulations, and translational research workflowsExcellent communication, leadership, and team development skills
