The incoming Head of Sales will be a strategic, self-driven leader with exceptional communication skills and a passion for building new business—both through personal initiative and by inspiring others.As a true player-coach, you will lead by example in the early stages, while building a new team, defining roles and responsibilities, establishing a clear commercial strategy, and hiring and mentoring top talent. You’ll implement effective sales tools, set clear goals and metrics, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.Your mission: unlock the long-term potential of the Australian market by identifying priority segments, crafting tailored sub-strategies, and building a specialised, high-performing commercial team. Reporting to the Country Lead, you’ll operate with autonomy and entrepreneurial insight, helping shape the company’s future in the region.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESStrategic Planning & Execution: Develop segment-specific strategies aligned with the Group’s global vision. Set measurable targets and define the roadmap to achieve them.Sales Leadership & Team Building: Lead and mentor the Australian commercial team (starting hands-on, evolving into a leadership role).Key Account & Business Development: Personally secure strategic accounts and high-value projects. Build long-term relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.Group Collaboration: Coordinate with international peers to share best practices and align messaging.Performance Monitoring: Track and report on commercial performance, forecasts, and market trends. Adjust tactics based on data-driven insights.Operational Oversight: Ensure pricing, terms, and agreements are competitive and aligned with group guidelines. Manage budget and resources for the Australian team.SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEDegree educated; MBA preferredProven experience in scaling or transforming a commercial function within a relevant industrial field5–10+ years’ leadership experience in MEP, construction, or industrial sectorsStrong track record of selling complex solutions through specifiers, distributors, and contractors (including EPCs)Market Knowledge, exposure and expansion into mining, power engineering, and/or premium building services marketsUnderstanding of environments with high-density mechanical and electrical servicesExperience with technical products and systems, from specification to installationStrategic thinker with strong execution capabilitiesProven success in key account management and long-cycle salesInspirational leader with a collaborative, hands-on approach
