We are looking for a dedicated manager who shares our core values of Customer passion, Care, Collaboration, Curiosity, and Courage.  SSC’s Connect division provides Ground Station as a Service (GSaaS) solutions to the global space industry. We support our customers in monitoring and controlling their spacecraft and downloading satellite data. We are looking for a manager to run our global Service Delivery department and ensure that we deliver our services according to budget and customer requirements. You will have the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of our GSaaS business and will play an important part in interacting with our customers and supporting the company to grow on the global market. Our international teams work across different geographical locations and time zones.This Is Service DeliveryService Commissioning: This involves the initial setup and configuration of services to ensure they meet customer specifications. The team works closely with customers during the commissioning of new services and provide technical support for on-orbit services Service Assurance: The department is responsible for maintaining the quality and reliability of services. This includes ongoing monitoring and support to ensure that services are delivered as promised and any issues are promptly addressed LEOP (Launch and Early Orbit Phase): The Service Delivery department handles critical operations e.g. Launch and Early Orbit Phase, which includes setup, testing, execution, and training for non-critical phases. They ensure that all operations are conducted smoothly and efficiently Project Management: The department manages various projects, from complex missions requiring extensive project management to standard services with minimal oversight. They focus on risk management, milestone adherence, and keeping stakeholders updated on project status Customer Engagement: The team engages with customers throughout the service delivery process, from sales to ongoing support. They maintain and develop technical knowledge and skills to provide high-quality service and address any operational inquiries or issues Technical Expertise: The department provides technical and project management expertise to customer projects, including configuring systems for new missions, performing pre-launch testing, and supporting critical operations.Job RequirementsYOUR ROLE The Main Tasks Of The Role AreManage the teams and ensure adherence to applicable processes and routines. Foster a motivating environment that encourages team engagement and alignment towards achieving shared goals. Support the organization in managing assignments and projects and applying best practices. Support organization in identifying risks, and implementing strategies and actions to mitigate them, safeguarding project success. Support the organization in developing training documentation and ensure efficient on-boarding of new employees. Promptly inform Connect’s Executive team of project delivery issues and customer escalations. Engage with customers to manage expectations and ensure customer satisfaction. Manage cross-functional collaboration by coordinating tasks and projects with other teams, including software development and IT teams. Being an active member of the Connect Executive Team, contributing to the divisions Business strategy, prioritizations, and developing and maintaining a shared organizational culture. Job ResponsibilitiesWHO YOU ARE You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in science or engineering. You have proven experience in managing customers and service contracts for technology-focused services and have extensive project management experience. Additionally, you have a strong commercial understanding including experience in budget management. People management comes naturally to you, and you are experienced in managing engineering teams.Your Expertise IncludesDemonstrates a strong sense of responsibility by overseeing the entire lifecycle of team deliverables, ensuring reliability and fostering cooperation to achieve project goals. Demonstrates a strong commitment to understanding and meeting customer needs, building long-term, trust-based relationships. Good ability to grasp complex technical systems and good analytical skills to find solutions to complex problems. Well-structured, ambitious and driven, with a proactive approach to project management. Self-driven and capable of working autonomously. Good cultural understanding and a strong track record of managing distributed teams across time zones. Willing to travel frequently. Valuable additionsExperience in the space business, for example spacecraft and/or ground segment operations.
