The role holder will play a strategic and leading role to ensure that all support functions are providing high quality and efficient support programme implementation.If you are seasoned and independent leader with a background in developing and integrating distinctive strategies; who is an action-oriented, execution-driven, and hands-on executive; with strong interpersonal, networking, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills; and the ability to build constructive relationships with external parties then this is the role for you!What You Will DoStrategic input into the development of the country strategy and plan of action.Operational support coordination and alignment with programme plans and with proposal development.Quality and timely support to project implementation.Master budget, country level budgets and business process outsourcing facilitation and development.Country structures, technical systems, and human resource capacity and allocation strategic development.Standard operating procedures, guidelines, and tools development.Compliance and adherence to NRC policies, guidance, handbooks, and donor/auditor requirements.Line management, guidance, and direction for Support Managers.What You Will BringSenior management experience in a humanitarian/recovery context.Resource and cost allocation expertise.Market analysis and cash-based interventions knowledge and exposure.Finance routines, Logistics and Procurement, and Human Resources knowledge in a humanitarian context.Complex, and volatile context exposure.Rohingya refugee response exposure and knowledge will be an added advantage.English fluency, both written and verbal.What makes this position attractive?The opportunity to work in the steadily growing NRC mission of Bangladesh that has scaled up since inception in 2018 to respond to the Rohingya influx, and that has an increasingly growing portfolio and funding. NRC interventions are used to increase the acceptance of humanitarian assistance amongst Rohingya and Bangladeshi populations.In addition to the existing Rohingya refugee response, NRC’s integrated activities are addressing the impacts of displacement from climate change in Cox’s Bazar, in the North-East and South-West parts of Bangladesh. As of 2022, NRC is working to respond to severe floods in Sylhet. Bangladesh is one of the world’s most disaster-prone countries while also hosting nearly 1 million Rohingya refugees. This is considered a protracted emergency in which displacement and recurrent climate disasters combine.Meaningful work that responds to the diverse needs, priorities, and concerns raised by beneficiary communities. The current context is set against a backdrop of continued conflict in Rakhine State, steady attenuation of humanitarian access, and political pressure to repatriate refugees.
