Position InformationBulli High School is a comprehensive coeducational high school in the Northern Illawarra, situated on Dharawal Country between the escarpment and the ocean, adjacent to Bulli Beach. Our geographical location provides unique learning opportunities for our students who have a deep respect for the traditional custodians of the land they live and learn on.Our current enrolment of 975 students consists of 55% male and 45% female students. 42 students identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and 117 students have a language background other than English. The school features a Support Unit which will have 5 classes for students on the Autism spectrum from 2026.Bulli High School has a proud tradition of academic, creative, sporting and leadership excellence. Students study subjects from a broad curriculum which includes enrichment classes in both the Arts and STEM, extension opportunities and vocational courses. Our students are able to access extra-curricular activities which support a holistic approach to learning as they are encouraged to reach their full potential and become community minded citizens, in a spirit of respect, responsibility, and integrity.The school has strong established relationships with our 8 primary feeder schools in the Seacliff Community of Schools, spanning a distance of 20 kilometres north of the school along the coastline, supporting student learning from Kindergarten to Year 12. We have fostered robust partnerships with the University of Wollongong, the Northern Illawarra AECG (Aboriginal Education Consultative Group) , and local community groups. In addition to the general selection criteria,Highly visible and approachable leadership skills, fostering a culture of teamwork, trust, and shared responsibility within the faculty and across the school to drive excellence in teaching and learning. Expertise in leading the implementation and evaluation of innovative, high-quality teaching and learning programs with a thorough understanding of the 7-12 English syllabus requirements, promoting high expectations, engagement, and equity for a diverse range of students.Strong organisational and management skills to effectively coordinate faculty systems and processes and build the capacity of staff, generating a shared vision of excellence that enhances student learning.Demonstrated ability to lead curriculum monitoring and assessment practices that invite evidence-based pedagogy through the strategic use of data to inform teaching, ensuring measurable improvement in student learning outcomes.General Selection Criteria Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policyConditionsAn unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
