Rangitoto College, New Zealand’s largest secondary school, is seeking a Health & Safety/EOTC Manager to provide strong management, support, and guidance across the school. Ideally you will have experience in managing Health & Safety in a large organisation. This is a pivotal role, reporting directly to the Principal to ensure statutory obligations are met and H&S and EOTC best practice is implemented.You will be instrumental in developing and continually improving risk assessment strategies for a diverse range of hazards and all activities outside the classroom and a key driver in the promotion and maintenance of a healthy and safe working environment.Key Responsibilities IncludeOperational Excellence: Ensuring the consistent development and implementation of H&S policy and standards into operational best practice.EOTC Compliance: Ensuring all Education Outside the Classroom activities meet Ministry of Education guidelines, are aligned with the school's values and curriculum, and are conducted safely.Risk Management: Developing and maintaining the centralisation of H&S documentation, including Hazard Registers, Incident Reporting, and Regulatory Compliance.Training & Auditing: Developing high-quality H&S training for staff and students, and conducting audits and regular inspections. Advisory: Providing expert advice on both H&S and EOTC matters to support departments in resolving issues with their own resources and planning.Core CompetenciesWe are looking for someone with proven expertise and strong interpersonal skills. Your core competencies should include:Demonstrated ability to conceptualise, develop, and implement hazard control methodologies and legal compliance strategies.Excellent written and oral communication skills, coupled with strong relationship management.A focus on continuous improvement and a proven ability to effect change and articulate, set, and achieve targets.Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills.A high level of integrity, professionalism, adaptability, and courage.35 to 40 hours per week, negotiable.52 Weeks per yearRemuneration Support Staff in Schools Collective Grade 6Applications close Monday 10 November 2025.
