Job ID: 59743Job Category: Health ServicesDivision & Section: Public Health, CommunicationsWork Location: UNION STATION 65 Front Street West (Hybrid)Job Type & Duration: Full-time,Temporary Vacancy, 18 months Hourly Rate: $47.80 - $52.39Shift Information: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week Affiliation: L79 Full-timeNumber of Positions Open: 1 Posting Period: 28-Nov-2025 to 12-Dec-2025To design communication strategies and tools to affect positive community health and lifestyle outcomes, using a diverse range of multi-platform health communications and marketing approaches.Provides guidance and advice to program managers regarding effective communication strategiesConducts risk assessments for all communication initiatives and recommends risk mitigation tacticsControls all aspects of the campaign/portfolioMonitors project process and ensures critical timelines are metEnsures all communication, marketing and promotional initiatives meet accessibility and equity standardsLiaises closely with program managers and staff to design innovative marketing strategiesEnsures the client is continually made aware of the status of the project, especially milestones and issuesEnsures that complex public health data and information is appropriately translated into plain language for target audiences and that it conveys the appropriate messagingEnsures all necessary components of the campaign/portfolio are delivered on schedule and on budgetDevelops innovative content for online and traditional mediaEnsures the effective and strategic delivery of communication productsLiaises with external marketing agency of record, where applicableMaintains knowledge of current industry best practices and new techniques used in health marketing and communicationsMaintains the integrity of and works to improve the Toronto Public Health brandConducts thorough evaluations of campaigns to determine effectiveness, provide insights and support evidence-based decision makingKey QualificationsYour application must describe your qualifications as they relate to:A Baccalaureate degree in marketing, journalism, communications, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.Considerable experience in marketing and/or strategic communications.Considerable experience preparing effective communication strategies that support the organization’s goals and objectives.Considerable experience with traditional and social media best practices.Considerable experience developing a variety of communication materials that engage diverse audiencesConsiderable experience managing large communication projects or social marketing campaigns.You Must Also HaveExcellent writing, verbal and editing skills.Knowledge of industry best practices, accessible and inclusive communications.Excellent organizational skills, time management, analytical skills and attention to detail.Ability to perform research and evaluate campaigns to support evidence-based decision making.Ability to interpret complex concepts and translate the information into plain language.NOTE TO INTERNAL FULL-TIME AND PART-TIME CITY OF TORONTO EMPLOYEES:City of Toronto employees must apply to full-time or part-time employment opportunities posted on the City's Internal Job Posting Portal.Equity, Diversity and Inclusion The City is an equal opportunity employer, dedicated to creating a workplace culture of inclusiveness that reflects the diverse residents that we serve.
