This is the start of a new career with a fast-growing, innovative global food organization.Ready for your next opportunity?About the roleAct as the strategic lead for the Health & Nutrition Science team, responsible for the scientific exploration, evaluation, substantiation, and translation of selected Future Growth Platforms. This role aims to drive short-, mid-, and long-term objectives with a clear vision of how the "Health through Food" pillar can become a reality.Main responsibilitiesLead the definition, development and execution of the Nutrition & Health scientific research strategy and pipeline that will help build Future Growth.Stay up to date with advances in Human Nutrition & Health topics to feed and shape business strategies across internal and external stakeholders.Identify and enable strategic business opportunities grounded in consumer benefits by leading research projects and data analysis initiatives, including clinical studies.Execute advanced laboratory techniques related to nutrition and health, including protein quality, amino acid determination, digestion process, and specialized analysis such as HPLC, UPLC-MS, and GC-MS.Lead external scientific partnerships (e.g., universities, research centers, startups) and navigate complex innovation ecosystems effectively.Conduct research and critical analysis of scientific literature to develop, translate, and present comprehensive nutrition content aligned with selected strategic scientific topics, providing guidance to internal and external audiences (KOLs).Represent Sigma in internal and external scientific forums, actively influencing the scientific research agenda to align with Sigma’s strategic priorities.Minimum qualificationsPhD in Human Nutrition, Nutritional Sciences, Metabolic Biology, Nutrition and Health Sciences, or Food Science and Nutrition.Proven leadership experience in research institutions.Proven work experience in the food & beverage industry, specifically in N&H initiatives.Hands-on experience with laboratory techniques related to Nutrition & Health, such as protein quality, amino acid determination, digestion process, and specialized analysis including HPLC, UPLC-MS, and GC-MS.Exceptional communication skills to effectively present science-based value propositions to both technical and non-technical audiences.Fluent in English & Spanish.Additional considerationsThis role is based on-site in Nuevo León, México, with flexibility for a hybrid work arrangement.At Sigma, we promote uniqueness.
