They collaborate closely with the Executive Committee, led by the President, as well as the broader membership of the association. Their primary responsibilities involve leading, supporting, and developing various activities such as meetings, conferences, courses, networks, reports, special projects, and consultations.
The Executive Officer is assisted by the Administration Officer. Together, they work towards the association's goals and ensure its smooth functioning. About HSRAANZHSRAANZ is a member based not for profit association, dedicated to the promotion of health services research in policy and practice. The collective voice of Australian and New Zealand health services research, HSRAANZ connects researchers with health service leaders, managers and clinicians to drive improvement and innovation in health and health care. The Association is governed by an active Executive Committee, who meet monthly.
Since its inception in 2001, HSRAANZ has been the collective voice for Australian and New Zealand health services research with aims to: Convene and connect producers and users of health services research in Australia and New Zealand and build links internationally. Support evidence-based policy and practice in the health system, helping to mobilise health services research, build capacity and make an impact. Influence policy leaders and funders to improve the profile and landscape of health services research, enabling it to thrive and develop. Your key responsibilities will be to:
work closely with the Executive Committee, providing guidance and advice, and acting on their decisions and initiativesengage with members, both organisations and individuals, and build and sustain positive membership relationships and networks.
Continue to expand the membership basebuild and sustain good working relationships with a wide range of external stakeholders including the Federal and State Health Departments and funding agencies, non-government agencies and universitiesdevelop and implement the Strategic Plan and annual program of activities in collaboration with the Executive Committeelead and manage special projects and respond to consultations in collaboration with the Executive Committee and wider membershipwrite reports and other publications for a wide variety of purposes/audiences and make oral presentations with confidence and professionalism to academics, government, and other audiences.
oversee the organisation of meetings, seminars and conferences for a wide range of purposes, ensuring the delivery of large meetings is coordinated efficiently with the external events secretariat, particularly the biennial research conference.
About youa deep understanding of health services research methodologies, trends and challenges, along with knowledge of, and experience in, how the health services research system in Australia and/or New Zealand is funded, conducted and appliedestablished networks, or the demonstrated ability to quickly develop networks, with researchers, policymakers, funders and other stakeholders, and the ability to build collaborations and partnerships within the health services research sectorstrong analytical and advocacy skills and experience in strategic decision making.
financial and resource management skills including budgeting, resource allocation and identifying funding opportunitiesexcellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact with the Executive Committee, members and stakeholders and write for a wide variety of audiences and to produce reports, blogs, papers and other contentproficiency in the Microsoft suite and other software packages (such as WordPress, Mailchimp, Xero, social media) for analysis, presentation, financial management, website content management, and social media.
High level of self-motivation and the ability to work well under pressure to prioritise tasks and use judgement and discretion in making decisions, including knowing when to seek advice or more senior involvement.
