This role is being offered as office/lab based at our site in Colindale, London. When based at one of our labs, you will be required to have a Counter Terrorism Check security vetting check as a minimum. For meaningful National Security Vetting checks to be carried out individuals need to have lived in the UK for a sufficient period of time. You should normally have been resident in the United Kingdom for the last 3 years as the role requires Counter Terrorism Check (CTC) clearance. In exceptional circumstances UK residency less than the outlined periods may not necessarily bar you from gaining national security vetting and applicants should contact the Vacancy Holder/Recruiting Manager listed in the advert for further advice.Job SummaryIn this role you will be expected:to perform laboratory duties, including receipt and booking in of samples, in Central Specimen Reception (CSR), entry of data onto the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), distribution of samples to the laboratories, monitoring the airflow of the class 1 microbiological safety Cabinets (MSCs).to deal with queries arising from received samples and to telephone senders for more information. To return and forward samples to other laboratories, when required.to monitor and triage emails sent to the CSR email box.to keep all databases, spreadsheets, telephone forms and error logs up to date and available for management reports and audit.to undertake laboratory housekeeping duties, clerical duties and other duties, while taking into account the operational requirements of the laboratory.
