*ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECT MANAGER*\*\*\* This position requires travel approximately 50% to 75% of the time to various facilities in the United States, including rural and tribal areas. \*\*\*At *Heartland Consulting* we are looking for a highly competent and experienced *Environmental Project Manager* to integrate our team of specialists to lead the implementation and evaluation of environmental management programs. Under the guidance of the Program Manager, the Project Manager will be responsible for day-to-day operational planning, coordination and monitoring of environmental audit activities at multiple tribal and regional facilities.
This position plays a critical role in ensuring that all field activities, deliverables, and timelines are met in accordance with federal environmental compliance standards and contractual requirements*KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* Coordinate and monitor the execution of audit fieldwork in accordance with the approved EMAP master program and site-specific audit plans. Serve as the central point of communication between field auditors, technical staff and the client (BIA EMAP Manager, COR, BES Program Manager). Develop and maintain project trackers, schedules, logistical plans and task assignments for audits, follow-ups and technical assistance sessions.
Help prepare project documentation, including pre-audit checklists, compliance logs, data uploads to SharePoint, and information materials. Ensure timely submission of draft reports and final reports, including monthly progress reports and quarterly updates of summaries. Monitor travel coordination, access logistics and pre-visit planning for more than 50 geographically distributed facilities. Support quality control reviews and ensure that all deliverables meet the accessibility requirements of Section 508. Maintain risk logs, escalate scheduling or operational issues to the Program Manager, and track troubleshooting. *REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL PROFILE* Bachelor of Environmental Studies, Engineering, Project Management, Public Administration or related field.
Preferably with PMP Certification or equivalent project management credential. Minimum 5 years of experience in managing federally funded projects or environmental field programs. Experience with environmental regulations, federal compliance standards (CAA, RCRA, TSCA, FIFRA, NEPA, etc. ). Proven ability to manage multi-site projects, remote teams, and federal compliance reporting requirements. Microsoft Office domain, SharePoint, and project scheduling tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, and so on). Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to write reports, prepare information sessions and interact with high-level stakeholders. You must be a U. S. citizen and eligible to work on federal contracts.
