Helpdesk Support Engineer (Databricks)Location: VirtualOther Consideration: Permanent Residents or U.S. Citizenship (Required)SUMMARY: The Helpdesk Support Engineer for Databricks provides frontline technical assistance to users working within the Databricks environment, ensuring smooth operation of data workflows, notebooks, and integrations. This role involves diagnosing platform issues, resolving user queries, and collaborating with engineering teams to maintain performance and reliability. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to understand data requirements and develop solutions.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESRespond to and resolve user-reported issues related to Databricks notebooks, clusters, jobs, and workspace accessTroubleshoot job failures, performance bottlenecks, and data ingestion errorsAssist with user onboarding, workspace configuration, and permission managementMonitor platform health and escalate critical incidents to engineering or cloud support teamsDocument common issues and solutions in a knowledge base to improve self-service supportCollaborate with data engineers and IT teams to ensure seamless integration with externalSupport scheduling and orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Autosys) used in conjunction with DatabricksSUCCESS FACTORSStrong analytical and problem-solving skills Familiarity with cloud computing, databricks, databases and data warehouses.Familiarity with remote desktop tools and VPN configurationsStrong verbal and written communication skillsPatience and empathy when handling user frustrations or urgent issuesAbility to support a remote team Excellent time management and organizational skills Adaptability and openness to new ideas and commitment to professional growth and learning EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEBachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field Minimum of 5 years of experience as a helpdesk engineer.Minimum of 2 years of experience working with Databricks.
