About This RoleSt Joseph's Lifecare, located in Beautiful Upper Hutt, WellingtonPermanent Part-Time (less than 32 hours per week on a regular basis)AM's, PM's and WeekendOur Kitchen Assistants are responsible for helping to provide meals for our residents at St Josephs Lifecare, working within a cohesive and well-established team environment. This is a busy rest home kitchen where you will be undertaking manual tasks and assisting the cook as requested. Experience is not essential as on the job training will be provided to ensure you succeed in this position. This is a physical role where time on your feet is needed, and a good level of physical fitness is required. He pūkenga tou | Skills & ExperienceExperience working in a kitchen, preferably a commercial kitchen would be preferred however on the job training will be provided. Basic cookery and food hygiene skills. Very good interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work within a team environment and be a team player. Availability for morning, afternoon and weekend shifts. Understanding of Nga Paerewa sector standards and applying the Treaty of Waitangi standards in the workplace.
