High School Testing Proctor (fixed-term until June 2026)Reports to: High School Principal and SLD Head of DepartmentHours: Full TimeStart Date: January 2026, or sooner if possibleSalary range: Grade 6 on the support staff salary scalesOverall purposeThe High School Testing Proctor is responsible for supporting students in the High School’s Learning Support Program which comprises students in Specific Learning Difference (SLD) classes as well as those with accommodations only (AO) by providing supervision and logistical support to students taking assessments. In addition to assessment supervision, this proctor will provide logistical and administrative support to the SLD high school team.Summary of Major Responsibilities:Arrange and organize test accommodations for learning support students’ exams Coordinate and proctor assessmentsDuring assessments, provide appropriate guidance to students’ clarifying questions and follow up with teachers as needed. When required, provide social and emotional care to help students re-engage with their assessment.Communicate observations to the learning support team about how students are using their exam accommodations during assessmentsParticipate in learning support meetings as requiredAny other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job as requested by the Learning Support Department Chair or High School PrincipalEssential experience and skills: Experience managing high volumes of information and competing tasks with the ability to prioritize accordingly in a busy school environmentClear understanding of neurodiverse learners and a commitment to ensuring that testing practices are fair, accessible, and supportive of individual needsAbility to respond with compassion and care to adolescents in moments of stress and overwhelm, to help them recalibrate and refocus Ability to communicate effectively with adults to gather and share information as appropriate in support of student learningHighly organized, detail-orientedA proven commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of children Strong oral and written communication skills Outstanding collaborative skills and a desire to work in a team-focused environment
