He or she works closely with the maintenance, production, and quality teams to increase sawmill line performance, reduce material loss, and increase equipment reliability in a forestry industry environment.
Your ResponsibilitiesAnalyze sawmill processes and recommend areas for improvementOptimize SOPs, QMS, and preventive maintenance plansParticipate in failure analyses (5M, 5 Whys)Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs)Coordinate sawmill planning and production based on inventories and the market needsCollaborate with external sales to manage material flowsPropose and lead continuous improvement projectsWrite operational reports and analyze equipment readingsEnsure quality monitoring (stacker, wax, processes)Program automated systems (Comact)Required ProfileBachelor's degree in wood engineering or equivalent experienceKnowledge of wood products (an asset)Skills in continuous improvement, problem solving, and project managementGood command of MS Office and analytical toolsExcellent communication skills and teamworkAutonomy, rigor, and focus on resultsStrengths to develop or consolidateKnowledge of NHLA and softwood gradesOptimization of working methodsArtificial intelligence systems and optimizers
