Job Description

Salary: $50,000. 00I. Position PurposeUnder the direct supervision of the Athletic Director, the Assistant Athletic Director – Game Day Operations is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all aspects of game day logistics for Hocking College athletic events. This includes overseeing facility preparation, staffing, equipment setup, scheduling, and ensuring a positive experience for athletes, coaches, officials, and spectators. The role supports all sports programs across fall and spring seasons, ensuring smooth operations and consistent standards for home and away events. The position also collaborates with coaches, athletic trainers, and campus departments to maintain high-quality athletic experiences and promote school spirit.

Additionally, the Assistant Athletic Director will work with the student center to schedule and promote recreational programming for the broader student body. II. Duties and ResponsibilitiesGame Day Operations Coordinate all logistics for home athletic events, including facility setup, signage, equipment, and staffing. Serve as the primary on-site administrator during athletic contests to ensure smooth execution and address any issues. Manage scheduling of athletic facilities for practices, games, and special events. Liaise with officials, visiting teams, and game personnel to ensure proper accommodations and communication. Oversee game day staffing, including student workers, ticketing, concessions, and security.

Ensure compliance with game day protocols and standards set by NJCAA, NCAA, and NAIA. Maintain inventory of game day equipment and supplies. Collaborate with marketing and communications to promote events and enhance fan engagement. Assist with travel logistics for away games, including transportation, lodging, and meals. Athletic Department Support Assist the Athletic Director in evaluating and improving game day experiences. Support coaches with scheduling needs and operational planning. Help manage the athletic department office and supervise student workers. Assist with implementation of the department’s drug testing policy. Attend NJCAA and OCCAC conferences and events as needed.

Student Engagement and Recreation Coordinate with student center staff to develop and promote recreational programming. Support campus-wide initiatives to increase student involvement in athletics and wellness activities. Other Duties May serve as a Head Coach or Assistant Coach if qualified and needed. Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director. III. Qualifications – Education, Experience, And Skills Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred. 3–5 years of experience in college athletics or event operations preferred. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent oral and written communication abilities. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Proficiency with scheduling software and spreadsheets.

Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed. Commitment to enhancing the student-athlete experience and promoting school spirit.
