S. Army Medical Command, Regional Health Command Europe, and other Department of Defense (DoD) agencies, including the US Navy and US Air Forces in Europe. QualificationsDegree:

Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family TherapistEducation: Graduate from a School of Social Work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) or a Graduate from a college or university accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or as otherwise identified in the TOExperience:

As required to meet clinical competency requirements as specified in the service-specific credentialing instruction, plus two years beyond the degree of direct experience in child maltreatment, child abuse prevention, dysfunctional couples, families experiencing stress, violent hostile individual clients, parenting programs, or related areasLicensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Registered NurseResponsibilities Include but are not limited to:

Supports the Army’s New Parent Support Program (NPSP) for expectant and new parents augments and expands the existing Family Advocacy Program (FAP); Army Regulation (AR) 608-18Coordinate appropriate referrals to community and other Government agencies for servicesIndependently assess the psychosocial functioning and needs of clients and their family members and formulate and implement a treatment plan, identifying the client’s problems, strengths, weaknesses, coping skills, and assistance needed, in collaboration with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary treatment teamDemonstrate knowledge and understanding of family growth and strengths, stages of child development, and the emotional needs and stresses of deployment, separation, homecoming, and reunionProvide and establish a clear and productive learning environmentDemonstrate the ability to use tact and sensitivity while establishing a clear and productive learning environmentUse computer software and automation systemsPerform home visits, assessments, and interviews, teach, train, and implement prevention programs in a military/DoD communityScreen all referrals to determine risk levelConduct a family assessment and, from the assessment results, develop a service plan with the familyPrimarily provide secondary/tertiary prevention services to at-risk and high-risk familiesCoordinate services with other community service providers, as appropriateProvide coordinated services independently and as a team memberRespond to the need for services at appropriate times which may involve activities at times other than during normal duty hoursIntervention services will be based upon the Nurturing Parenting Program, which assists parents in creating an environment that is nurturing to themselves and their infants and young childrenProvide reports to the FAPM/CRC case managersFacilitate playgroups and parenting groups as time permitsBe familiar with AR 608-18, The Army Family Advocacy Program, 20 Oct 04, and mandated reporting requirementsReview all cases with the FAPMCollect and record program evaluation dataCollect, organize, record, and forward required statistical and narrative reports, promptlyMaintain case files and document all activitiesParticipate in ongoing and periodic professional development activities to maintain licensurePerform other duties as assignedDOCPER/SOFA/Logistical Support StatusThis position is eligible for support under NATO Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) supplemental agreement articles 72 or 73.
