These vacancies are within our Housing Management teams.The JobThe main requirement of a Housing Service Officer is to deliver a customer focused holistic housing management service that provides effective and customer focused tenancy management to tenants in Kirklees.Our Housing Service Officers work directly with communities to deliver our services across a range of functions. Housing Service Officers are often the main point of contact for our tenants and communities and will be expected to provide a professional and knowledgeable housing management service.Kirklees is a large area, rich in heritage and with brilliant diversity and culture throughout. Our Housing Service Officers will be expected to engage well with all customers, providing high challenge and high support so that our communities are safe, well maintained and a good place to live.An important part of the role is to recognise when action needs to be taken to address concerns by listening to our communities and developing action plans for improvement. You will also be expected to work with vulnerable customers who may need additional support throughout their tenancy and to support them to access services via other partners across Kirklees partners and the voluntary sector. We support tenants to help them reach their own positive outcomes to sustain their tenancy.Housing Service Officers work within a range of teams and functions across Kirklees Homes and Neighbourhoods. This specific role is within the Income Management Accounts Team undertaking a wide range of accounting and administrative tasks relating to the income of the business, helping to deliver an effective and efficient finance service.This role is responsible for dealing with incoming payments into the organisation relating to Rent Income including Universal Credit, Direct Debits & Housing Benefit, ensuring that these funds are accurately allocated on the housing system. You will also be required to process customer refunds, process orders and complete day to day maintenance of the Housing Management system.Having excellent focus & organisational skills and a keen eye for financial details, the Accounts Team Housing Service Officer helps ensure that all rent and service charge setting processes are executed accurately, and in line with current legislation and regulatory requirements. This Role Includes The Following TasksUpdating and maintaining records accurately, using different systems and software packages.Managing regular tasks with routine deadlines.Responding to high volumes of emails and telephone calls and communicating effectively with the diverse range of stakeholdersProcessing Rent refunds – utilising a range of systemsAccount Transfers and Adjustments- the effective maintenance of Housing RecordsExperience of Microsoft Packages, Word, Excel etc is essential.The Housing Service Officer also supports the Housing Manager and occasionally provides cover certain financial tasks performed by the manager and wider team.It is an exciting time to join our Housing Teams as we develop our services to respond to changes in housing legislation and regulation and capture new approaches for service delivery.The Housing Management teams are Hybrid workers across the Kirklees Borough.Travel to various locations to carry out the duties of the job is required, and a full driving licence is desirable (Exceptions may be made for disabled applicants).We offer a great package, in addition to joining a great team, you will receive the following:Entry into the Local Government Pension Scheme, including Life Assurance.Generous holiday entitlement.Flexible workingAccess to a range of well-being support initiatives including but not limited to an Employee Assistance programme, Healthy Eating Active Lifestyle assessments, Cycle to Work programme and discounted KAL gym membership.
