HR Manager - Market Entry, IT (Hybrid)We are looking for an HR Manager to help a fast-growing global IT startup expand into Japan. This role is perfect for someone who wants to develop HR strategies in a dynamic environment. You will work with teams across Asia and Europe, setting up HR and recruitment processes in a startup. The company values innovation, flexibility, and ambition, offering career growth and international experience.Key Responsibilities- Lead recruitment efforts in Japan, from defining roles to onboarding.- Work with department leaders to find and hire needed talent.- Create employer branding and recruitment strategies to attract candidates.- Ensure compliance with Japanese employment laws.- Maintain and update HR policies with global HR teams.- Manage the employee lifecycle, including onboarding and offboarding.- Oversee HRIS systems to ensure data accuracy and compliance.- Coordinate payroll and manage relationships with benefits vendors.- Advise employees on HR inquiries while maintaining confidentiality.- Promote a positive work culture through engagement activities.- Support conflict resolution and disciplinary actions.- Guide performance management and help with goal setting.- Coach managers and employees on performance improvement.- Work with global HR teams on career development and succession planning.Qualifications- At least 8 years of HR experience in operations, compliance, and recruitment.- Successful track record in recruitment and employer branding.- Fluent in Japanese and English.- Strong knowledge of Japanese labor laws and HR practices.- Experience with HRIS platforms like Workday is a plus.- Self-driven, resilient, and able to handle both strategic and operational tasks.
